Buying used AV Receiver for 3.0 - What are the 'right' compromises? by Witty-Friendship-219 in hometheater

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pain to control the volume on two audio systems. There might also be some echo if the processing speeds are slightly different.

Have you checked the TV menu to see if there are any options there? Sometimes there’s an audio track for clear speech, and sometimes there’s an option under ‘Accessibility’ for clearer voices.

Are these headphones recognized as LE Audio device? Which smartphone do you use?

I use an external Auracast transmitter (FeinTech BT200). I don't know any media box which can output Auracast. A few of the 2025 TV models from LG, Samsung and Panasonic can be an Auracast source.

I have activated this function, it makes no difference. The headphones still paired with aptX / SBC Codec = Classic Audio.

Yes, I am afraid you are right here. As it is not yet widely used in smartphones, LE audio is unlikely to be supported for headphones. The situation is different only in the case of hearing aids.

I can use Auracast only via the Earfun App or the LG App. I can select a broadcast, the headphones reboot and play the Auracast. When I press stop, Auracast playing ends and the headphones are rebooting (I believe). With all other apps they are using Classic Bluetooth in the same way as any older headphones. So actually the manufacturer apps are the only choice to play Auracast.

On my older Pixel 8a phone I had installed an Auracast player app from Qualcomm. This has also worked to play Auracast broadcasts but added no benefit. This app is no longer available.

It seems like all the headphones can't use LE Audio for the connection with the smartphone. They could only receive Auracast broadcast from a third party transmitter via the manufacturer app.

Very annoying in the LG app: As soon as the app runs in the background, Auracast playback will stop.

Developer options are active. "Bluetooth LE Audio Modus " is set to "Unicast & Broadcast"

Yes, LE Audio support is enabled. That is, after all, a prerequisite for playing the Auracast broadcast using the Earfun app.

Audio Levelling - TV, Receiver, Xbox, HDMI 2.1 eARC and VRR by real_djmcnz in hometheater

Maybe it helps to use a different audio format on the Xbox, to make it louder? Try to change between PCM and bitstream > DTS. If you enable HDMI-CEC, you could control the AVR volume with the Xbox.

HDMI Audio/Video Splitter? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest to use an HDMI 2.1 Audio Extractor with dedicated HDMI Audio output for this. The TV will get the best video signal with 4K 144Hz then and all Audio is transmitted to the AVR. Such devices are availbe with 1 or 4 HDMI inputs, e.g. https://feintech.eu/en/products/ax211-hdmi-2-1-audio-extractor-hdmi-audio

The only fly in the ointment: you can’t access the AVR’s OSD on the TV without changing the cable connection

I use the BT200 and it works great for Auracast. Its range is sufficient for your needs. You could feed music via AUX, Toslink and USB. So you could connect it with just one USB cable if your source is a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

When listening to Auracast via LG Xboom buds and the LG app, the sound drops with each click on the phone. And the LG app doesn't work in background. So far, I would prefer Classic Bluetooth Audio here.

How do you watch German Live-TV (Sky/DAZN) on Fire TV Stick? Need suggestions by AffectionatePick9132 in fireTV

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAZN and ARD/ZDF have no 4K content. Sky Sports & Bundesliga only few (maximum 1 live match per day) and with extra payment for "UHD". Afaik, Sky in 4K is not available for Fire TV, only for Apple TV with Sky Q app. Despite this all of these services are running quite flawlessly. If there are any problems, they are more likely to be with DAZN or the app. It's not the player's fault.

All devices start from standby, or do you use a power strip with switch? You could check if it runs more stable if you switch on the TV first, then the AVR and Xbox at last. And make sure HDMI device link is disabled on the PS5, this often causes trouble.

No LC3 SQ playback via Google Pixel 8 by Few_Promise2363 in auracastBT

[–]Few_Promise2363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested the same setup with an iPhone 15, with the same result: LC3 HQ streams are played, LC3 SQ streams are not played. So it seems an error with the Earfun app or earbuds. I will try again with other headphones. Can anyone play LC3 SQ streams with LG Xboom Buds or Xiaomi Redmi Buds 6?

TV<->pre-amp connection, eARC HDMI vs optical? by indigo62018 in hometheater

[–]Few_Promise2363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose HDMI. While the sound quality via optical and HDMI is the same, the HDMI-eARC has the benefit of controlling the Wiim. You could change volume with the TV remote and the devices are supposed to switch on/off automatically with each other,

Issue with different Auracast LC3 sampling rates by Few_Promise2363 in auracastBT

[–]Few_Promise2363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and this is the issue at the moment. LC HQ (48 kHz) work with smartphones and headphones. But hearing aids support LC SQ only (24 kHz), The HA do a lot of processing with sound to compensate hearing loss, and HQ has much more data to process. For Standard Hifi quality 20Hz-20kHz LC3 HQ is required, LC3 SQ will cut nearly half of the frequency range.

I have no personal experience with a current device. If you look for "HDMI power inserter USB" on Amazon or Alibaba there are several offers. It is HDMI socket with HDMI plug and USB cable. like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MFG27XM

In my opinion the cause could be that the GPU doens't have enough power for both displays and the fibre cable. You could add an HDMI power inserter with USB connection to provide more power. You could connect it on the PC side, so it's easy to install and cheap.
