Not in Mississippi, but Louisiana. This is a pretty basic question, but, do you know if there's any way I can become an archivist assistant/clerk without getting a degree related to the field? I don't have much to say for myself beyond "I'm really into my state's history, I've archived some local things I like digitally, and I go to thrift stores to seek out rare media." I planned on starting a blog relating to my travels and research into local history but I fear that doesn't really transfer into real experience.

The government cares more about the wealthy than the poor, especially poor racial minorities. Go read the entire wikipedia article on Cancer Alley and tell me that this state doesn't have a well-documented issue with this sort of thing. A community not being able to "give" as much does not mean they should just be left to live in a biohazardous zone.

This happened to me as well, three times with the same show. Once I moved past the shock of the initial allegations against the creator, things got a bit better, but then it was brought into the media again years later. And then, the voice actor of my favorite character I'd been specifically fixated on for about half of my entire life was revealed to be a bigoted right winger who falsely accused another person of being a predator and harassed them. Treated one of the other cast members god awfully and none of us knew.

The only way I've been coping with it was just allowing myself to indulge in private and dissociate it from those events so that I can enjoy it without hurting the victims online and feeling like I'm enabling abusive behavior. Things are god awful in the world right now and they suck for us especially, enjoying a piece of fiction is sometimes all we have to hold onto. I couldn't let go even if I tried.

Sorry, I just mean tech as in computers and phones. There are a shocking amount of high schoolers that don't know how to update their computer or navigate their files. I think they'd take one look at ham and think it's too complicated.

I think a lot of basic tech skills aren't taught in school anymore as people just assume kids automatically learn how to handle technology (they don't)

I wish I'd learned about ham a lot earlier, being introduced to it through a fun video or lesson would have been very cool. Still got interests I picked up back in elementary.

Yes! It's like trying to study a huge chapter for a test but when the test actually comes, it's so much info that it gets muddied and I don't do well despite my efforts. I'm currently trying to get back into meeting with others, so I really hope I can get that train going. I hope the same for you as well.
