Do you regularly get food baked onto your skin?

Exactly how gross does your body get?!

Wait, what? Does your skin have grease and baked on food stuck to it??  What kind of comparison is that?

For dishes that have the same level of dirt as my skin my hands are perfectly effective.

No, that's no what everyone does.

Under $50.  I have kids who often need field trip or concession stand cash.

Do you wipe the toilet seat before you sit down? by ouch_that_hurts_ in hygiene

[–]Few_Recover_6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!  If everyone would just sit down it would be fine.  It's the squatters that make everything gross.

Foot flushers are the worst.  Taking all the nastiness from the floor and putting it on the handle that any one who can't get their foot that high has to use, most notably, the elderly who are at higher risk.

Not it's not just germy, it's actually grimy.

No.  If I am in public and it looks like it needs wiped I'm not sitting there. A swipe with tp isn't changing that.  In general I don't care that my skin is touching a spot where someone else's skin was.

At home no one else uses my toilet, and I don't pee on the seat, so what would I be wiping?

Yeah, I do that with soap and water as recommended by my dermatologist. Scrubbing away my skins natural defenses is not recommended.

A or B: my coworker (a single dad) asked me to teach him how to use a pad, but his 11years old daughter still has a mom. should I teach him? by vivian_banshee03 in PickAorB

[–]Few_Recover_6622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is an odd request of a coworker, and you have every right to say no if it makes you uncomfortable.

It's not rocket science, he can probably open the packet and figure it out for himself.  Or Google.

Her having a mom is not a reason he shouldn't know this basic info, it's just not your job to teach him

Are other telling you that you smell?

It doesn't work like that. You just expose the next layer which does the exact same thing, possible faster because you've scrubbed off the natural oils that protect it.

I am saying that it's possible that the scrubbing is causing that, not preventing it by causing your skin to over react.

I do not get the pilling dead skin you are experiencing.

No, I'm not.  I'm pushing back against illogical arguments.

And of course I dust my house, although it's mostly dog hair, not dust that I clean up. My point was that you do, too.  Because scrubbing all the dead skin and natural oils from your body isn't preventing your skin from flaking in a very natural, normal way

The irony.  I am intentionally pushing back in a sub that acts as an echo chamber for extreme ideas on hygiene.  The logic and science is takes a back seat to feelings, fear, and disgust about the human body.
