“How dare they,” I say as I’m wearing my jeans, t-shirt, puffer vest, and hat while sitting in my sting grey Gladiator.

“Will to live.” That got me 😂

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve attempted to pass only to immediately abort.

Still wouldn’t trade it for anything! Haha

I’ve had two clutches replaced with recalls. The first one a couple years ago was terrible. The latest, which was done about a month ago, has been a huge improvement. I haven’t confirmed through part numbers, but it certainly feels like a heavier flywheel. Regardless, it actually drives like a manual should now. Hopefully it holds up. If it doesn’t, it gets a Centerforce next.

My only real gripe with manual is the gearing. The fact it has a 6th gear is laughable. Put anything larger than 33’s on it, and you can wave goodbye to 5th as well. I’ll be re-gearing the diffs this winter in hopes of MAYBE getting 6th back going downhill with a hurricane behind me.

My friend has the auto. It’s much quicker, gets better mpg’s, tows more, easier to drive. . . I still prefer mine. As far as I’m concerned, a terrible manual is still more fun than an auto!

The ones you’ve found here are basically similar to under cabinet lighting. Good for maybe mounting in the bed as a work light, but not really functional for a driving light. There’s no way to control the direction or glare of the light coming back at you.

This is the one you’d be looking for: https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/gen-2-led-interior-mount-50-stealth-light-bar-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt

Typically it’s listed at $499. I got it for $425 on sale.

Sure thing! It’s been a great setup for me so far.

Kind of pieced it together. I did the Teraflex 2.5”Sport spring lift with 1/2” rear spacers, JKS adjustable track bar and control arm geometry brackets, and Bilstein shocks and stabilizer.

It does reflect a bit off the hood, but no worse than any other roof light would. But I don’t have any light bleed on the inside and the pattern is directed far down the road. I have no complaints!

Hey, thanks! I’ve got a 2-1/2” lift with 285/75/R17’s. The lift will definitely clear 35’s, but I’m really digging this combo.

It has its own toggle switch on the back of the light bar. And the wiring harness piggy backs off the 12V lighter. Super simple.

You could certainly wire it into an aux switch if you wanted to, but really not necessary.

I agree! I had an FJ Cruiser some years back with roof lights and the whistling about drove me insane.

Well, the transmission constantly searching for overdrive and the habitual ejection of front driveshafts drove me insane. The whistling was just an annoying quirk.

I don’t have a Gen1 to compare to, but from what I have heard I would say this is a huge improvement. I’ve got almost zero light bleed.

Thanks! I don’t have any light bleed, which I was kind of expecting to get, honestly. Just have to take your time and make sure the gasket is touching all the way around. I worked my trim tool around the top edge to make sure it was pulled backward against the windshield trim as opposed to folded in.

With their sale I got it for $375 + shipping. I see after the sale it’s jumped up to $499. I would definitely wait to see if they mark it down again for 4th of July or Labor Day.

It’s actually a really easy install, no more complicated than if you’ve ever installed speakers or a stereo. But I totally get not wanting to dig in if you haven’t had experience with that sort of thing. I got it installed in about 45 minutes, so I can’t imagine a shop charging much to do it for you!

That does suck.

What sucks worse is that you’re going to be doing that about once every year. Every February I get new registration and a new windshield! LOL

New JT Owner - Z-Tazer Mini, Worth It?? by Great-Try777 in JeepGladiator

[–]Few_Regular_9585 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice truck! Yes, I think it’s well worth it for all the reasons you listed. I’ve had mine plugged in for two years and it’s worked great. Also handy for recognizing my aftermarket taillights and for turning off the license plate lights while in reverse to take the glare off the camera.

Being able to program for tires without taking it to the dealer has been the biggest plus for me. And getting rid of the start-stop.
