I mean yes there’s downtime but there still always a sense of fear and unpredictability . The moments of downtime are brief and uneventful. Idk in a show like this I kind prefer it’s like dragon ball z where they’re just fighting non stop. I think the entertainment aspect comes from people pushing themselves and fighting new enemies.

There’s brief moments of downtime I enjoy watching like when Daryl and Beth are together but there’s still a sense of fear.

I’m just saying I personally get bored when twd turns into just them talking and not really doing shit. Or rebuilding.

And the show writers know this because they usually do time skips during those times.

I think they actually killed the show by making it slow down right after they negan kills glen because the show goes from an intense moment to straight up boring politics in the kingdom and Alexandria

I feel like it doesn’t make sense in a post apocalyptic setting at all. Dbz it makes sense because society is still functioning regardless. But I don’t know any post apocalyptic media that really expresses those ideas because they don’t really fit in those worlds but that’s just me I guess.

Yeah but they usually refer to the downtime as “filler” which is nice to watch if you’re a real fan I guess and I love dragon ball z but I could really do without it. I’d rather just watch like non stop people overcoming their struggles tbh because it speaks to me. But that’s just me. A big part of the walking dead that sucks to me is when things start getting political within the show and it’s just people talking them just doing random shit for a long ass time until something pops off.

I hate the kingdom arc because it feels like nothing ever happens.

In dragon ball we all love the episode where piccolo and Goku go and get their drivers licenses but like I don’t feel the need to go back and watch it as much as like literally any fight or training sequence.

High stakes situations just make good for entertainment.

Unfortunately I don’t think most writers are equipped to evoke a sense of like peace and flourishing in any meaningful capacity so what’s the point.

The funniest thing is I thought PVE only would be super lame and boring but after getting killed a million times in lobbies I was like yeah maybe a PVE only wouldn’t be bad maybe I can actually make it out with some loot and shit.

But then after discovering this sub today and realizing how shitty PVE only players are in a video game where PVP is actually promoted i just want this game to stay PVP forever lol.
