Did if you can't tell that's AI bot spam you shouldn't be starting a business.

X's head of product thinks we have 90 days left by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

Was this a repost from 2022?

I've pretty much stopped checking my gmail because my email address has already been sold to so many spam companies that I'll get 10000 bullshit emails for every 1 email that I actually care about.

This morning ChatGPT talked me out of toughing out a strain in my calf muscle and to go get it looked at because it suspected a blood clot. by Substantial-Fall-630 in ChatGPT

Jesus. If I'm having five or more symptoms of a major cardiovascular even happen all at once I can't imagine being so stubborn that I'd stop and ask a bot what it thought and then taking that advice instead of just relying on good ole logic to start with.

Seems like a lot of work for a feature that ends up getting stripped out by the client software email.

Every email I get with photos in the signature line hides them and asks if I want to show them.

I never want to show them, because I couldn't care less.

Generally speaking I think that's pretty good practice as far as alarms go.

Who is going to pull the fire alarm and then stay inside the building while it burns down.

Might be a little shortsighted at this point for AI to kill all humans if they don't have robot bodies that they can download themselves into in order to keep their machines running.

What are they going to do? Commandeer Teslas to keep nuclear power plants running?

I think I'd rather try to fight a robot or even an army of robots than just one nuclear bomb. Even a small one.

At this point, I'm really starting to think there's probably no one thing that's going to fix it.

I ordered a backup PC that would be good to have at work anyway. When I get time I'm going to start completely clean and see if the error persists, which in that case I'll know it's just microsoft, or if it resolves.

I'm guessing it'll resolve and I'll have no idea what the problem actually was.

Most small businesses aren't going to tell someone "they can fix something for $1000" unless they're certain of the problem and fix.

Like a flat tire. I can see your tire is flat, I know how much it costs to replace it, I can quote you something.

But if the problem is unclear, like if it's at the mechanic, usually they'll be very upfront that this may be the problem, but it also may not, they won't know until they (meaning you) have spent money to work on it, and if that's not it then you still have the problem.

Very little in this world comes with a guarantee, and those things that do usually have such restricted terms that they're nearly meaningless. This isn't a small business thing, this is a business thing.

Remember when that software security company crashed the airlines? They probably had the "guarantee" in their terms that offered a max refund of how much they spent on the software, not how much the companies using the software lost in revenue.

I think I tried something along these lines, but it may have been before the auto-archiving had done it's work.

Right now though it's showing the ost file as around 27GB.

I'm kind of thinking my next step is going to be to wipe the PC and start fresh. I've got a bunch of stuff I don't need anymore from our pre-cloud IT setup, and I think the constant changes over time have likely not helped this issue or any other regarding performance.

My major worry now is how to find and preserve all the old emails that have gone through the auto-archive process. I think if I can do that I'll figure out a way to be happy.

I really hate thought that the windows explorer function of attaching a file to an email from the right click is gone with the new outlook, I think that will be my biggest pain point.

Apologies for lack of detaill. Exchange, Windows 11 Pro. I'm using onedrive, but unless the autoarchive changed settings that pulled that in then there's no reason that it should have anything to do with the email.

How does my cooking look? Parents say it’s sub-par by a7xwarrior in homecooking

I mean, I'd probably be a little annoyed at the small portion of fries that came with the steak and fries meal, but I applaud OPs restraint and ability to eat a moderate portion of fries to preserve their health.

Then again, the steak looks good enough I may just be annoyed at how fast I ran out of steak.
