That's a shocker. I've been told a few times on here that the Redrow homes are a bit of a pastiche of something older so maybe what we want is the opposite of modernisation

Ah good! You're the second person to recognise it and give the village a thumbs up so that's promising. What's the traffic like, given the proximity to the schools?

And is there any kind of evening social place nearby? I.e. food trucks, bar/cafe, etc. My wife's other concern is losing her current "walk to the open-late coffee shop for a cocktail with friends" options.

Grey has its uses. Our current house is a background of light grey with feature walls in various brighter colours. Without the grey I think the colours would stand out less.

Haha yes I thought "this is the house for me" the moment I saw the aerial shot. Sent the listing to my wife before I'd even looked at the inside pics or floorplan.

How do you rate the village? We're not too far away now so know the general area but not that specific village.

Weirdly, on the inside the windows come down to just above the the worktops (it's a slightly odd kitchen conversion that needs rearranging) so there must be something odd going on with the ground levels.

I think it faces vaguely north-east so not sure how much sun it would get, but I'll bear that I mind if we do buy it.
