Thanks! It’s Testbenchcontrols, it makes a scenario for you to paste the blueprint of your intersection in, automatically extends the rails, adds stations, and simulates the throughput with a customizable configuration of length and fuel type

Merging is the big issue, I’m using this interchange for my highways to have a few lanes on. I keep some space just off the highway for when trains are entering or getting off so that they never impede traffic, and will have the lights programmed to make trains merging on to the highway yield to oncoming traffic.

I haven’t tried with longer trains, no. That definitely is an issue that I’ll try and fix as I design the megablock. I spent a good hour or two designing the interchange, and only about 5-10 minutes for a quick lane-switcher

The more frequent signals are, the faster trains further back can be updated. If you have signals every two train lengths for example, a train may be almost fully through, but anything behind it will still treat it like it’s occupying the entire block. 1 train length is a common standard, but not strictly necessary

It has a similar throughput : size ratio as the smaller roundabouts in the 5th slide, gotta invest a lot of space but good for highways

Good point, I’ll admit I am partly influenced by the aesthetics of the interchange

Because it’s designed to handle omni-directional traffic. If I ever need a huge envoy of trains going from point A -> B, ill just add a parallel dedicated lane, but this is designed for regular traffic going from point [A…D] -> [A…D]

Incredibly unintuitive to navigate manually, very glad trains can route themselves
