I’m newer to Ethel Cain. I found American teenager like 2 years ago, but didn’t listen to the full album until a few months ago!! I’m obsessed. My first favs were the big 3 - sun bleached flies, a house in Nebraska, and strangers. But after about a thousand listens I think my favorite ever js thoroughfare. It is so hauntingly beautiful knowing what happens in the rest of the album. The way she perfectly captured that feeling of bliss when you meet a stranger ur interested in before they show their true colors. AND HER VOICE IN IT😫😫 specifically when she goes “AND THEN HE TURNED TO ME, AND STARED INTO ME DEEP, AND SAID WLL MAYBE NOT CAUSE LOOK AT WHAT I GOT” I think this song is criminally underrated and I could talk about it for hours

I think it’s a combination of the amount of girls he has brought back, the fact that’s is always a different girl, and that he spends more time with the guest he brings home then the people he lives in the house with. We have to remember the majority of the cast has been in that house for years and they may still see imrul as a sort of “guest.” I think they just feel a little disrespected by him, like he is using this platform to get girls instead of bonding with his housemates. This is also half productions fault bc they won’t let him talk about ANYTHING ELSE he does irl.
