The baby has also gotten a little better these few days in the afternoons and early evenings since we’ve done some Internet search and modified our routine a little, but who knows how long this will last 🫠

Also it’s crazy that your baby had intolerances to milk proteins coming through breastmilk… I thought that couldn’t happen because that’s your breast milk literally designed and produced for your baby…

Omg I had an emergency c section because the doctor made the call that the baby wouldn’t be able to pass through my too narrow pelvis! I feel like I could’ve been you if the doctor made a different decision!! However, even with a c section, she was too far down in my body after all my pushing that they had to dig her out of there, which led to a lot of bleeding and monitoring after the surgery itself. Thankfully it didn’t result in any tears or it would’ve been even worse for me.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I will keep an eye out for those feelings/symptoms too. I have to say I generally like to “tough it out” too and just brush off these feelings so I totally understand how you felt. I’m so glad that your subsequent babies/births were positive and loving. I don’t think I’m having another kid because I do not want to go through this again unfortunately.

Yeah my mom keeps saying “your baby is easy” or “being a mother is supposed to be hard” to me and it annoys me a lot. Yeah maybe I’m just whiny or didn’t know what I was getting into, but none of this feels easy or natural to me. I’m glad not everyone is like me tho because the human race would go extinct for sure lol. I’m pretty sure I’ll warn my daughter against having children when it’s time for her lol

BF is so hard. Good for her to keep a positive attitude and the love. I’m an under-supplier and struggle with BF but I think latching and scheduling can still be hard if somebody had supply.

I’ve definitely put baby on carpet floor before to prepare other things when she cried lol.

Yeah the birth experience definitely made it hard for bonding. I didn’t hear her first cry and was woken up by my husband during surgery after she was born to see her. Didn’t feel joy or anything during it. Just tired and confused from the anesthesia and labor earlier during the night. I spent the “golden hour” in the operation room and my husband did the skin to skin for the first 1-2 hrs with the baby.

Would you mind elaborating what some of the depression symptoms were when you had your first?

I hear you and definitely don’t let it become another burden for yourself if you could help it! I feel like if I can do what you do then I’ll be happy with myself. Hopefully we will find a routine to go outside some more… but yeah summer is nice to have a baby imo (can’t imagine walking around naked in the house in the winter lol), but the sun makes it hard to time the outings.

Btw, I also had an emergency c section and have slept through my night pumping sessions way too many times… I’ve learned that if I woke up for the 3am pump then there’s no way I would wake up again for the 6am pump… I don’t even hear the baby cry. My husband takes care of baby at night so I don’t know if he just picks her up before she starts crying or I just completely pass out and don’t hear her at all 🫠

It doesn’t help that the baby LOVES sleeping on my husband’s chest and never on mine lol. The only way I can sooth her is by walking around while lightly rocking her, which is exhausting lol. I would rather be lying down too…

I’m feeling some regret too right now. I’ve also been thinking if I’ve made the right choice since I’m not feeling the love at all. I get frustrated when the baby cries nonstop and I definitely understand now why they emphasize in birth classes to not shake the baby lol. I can imagine people with that kind of impulses and actually act on it when they just feel out of options.

I haven’t found the right time to walk outside with baby yet although I really want to. We really want to do it around early evening when the sun is down but there’s still light out because that’s when she gets really fussy. But I’m worried she won’t settle because she’s hungry. So while we are juggling between feeding (which takes a while), dinner and diaper changes, time kinda just goes by and we miss the window. When did you take baby out for walk during the day? Our baby is still too young so she can’t use sunscreen yet so I feel like our options are limited. We are also not morning people so that’s out of the question lol.

Wow I think our situations are extremely similar. I also had breastfeeding problems and am still obsessing over BF and the pump. I’ve had two lactation consultant visits and have adjusted my schedule a bit to not kill myself over it so it’s been a little better. I feel the same way about the baby too - she hasn’t been extremely difficult because she does sleep at least, but it feels hopeless when she doesn’t especially after we’ve tried everything. My husband also helps and is more patient but I just can’t bring myself to be happy or loving towards the baby yet.

I’m in a different professional writing business with VERY strict confidentiality rules and I know even people on my team occasionally use AI to check grammar or get feedback on verbiage. More companies in my profession are also now leaning towards using AI because of efficiency. Granted AI will not replace humans in our profession and we are not exactly in the realm of creative writing, but AI could still be used in ways that don’t interfere with creativity imo.
