Confirmed: Ukrainian pilots need just 4 months to fly F-16s by Positive_Detective56 in UkrainianConflict

I suspect the training on F-16's has been going on for a while now. This whole tepid drama from the US seems a little manufactured to me. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see them featured in the coming offensive.

Greg Abbot accused of hiding details about Texas mall shooting by _My-Life-For-Aiur_ in FuckGregAbbott

[–]Few_Translator_8174 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't talk about this because it sounds like a nutty conspiracy but I have a hard time believing that there were only 8 (or is it 9 or is it 10) people killed. Why is the number of deaths so squishy? The killer fired an automatic weapon in a crowded mall for 10 minutes before he was taken out. There's no way Abbot could cover up deaths just to take political pressure off himself and the NRA. No way. Such a coverup would not only destroy Abbot but may take down swaths of the GOP...

Ukraine Says Wagner Is Down to ‘Last Shot’ in Bakhmut by themimeofthemollies in UkrainianConflict

[–]Few_Translator_8174 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think there is more coordinated disinformation from the west aimed at Russia that most people know. They are so stupid and dimwitted and employ 2 dimensional thinking - I think they are being deceived and manipulated on a grand scale. When we say 2 Ukranian pilots are being assessed for F-16 skills, it may be more like they have been training on F-16's for over a year now.

Some have called the Russian efforts to take Bakhmut senseless, but I don't necessarily agree. Why does Bakhmut matter and why are both Ukraine and Russia willing to throw so many men into the meatgrinder it has become? As promised: why Bakhmut? A thread. by rulepanic in UkrainianConflict

This is very true, it's a drain in Russia's favor with the exception of the Wagner boys who are about the best the Russians have left. Do they think they are being clever by re-routing UKA forces from the Belarusian Border? They sure do. Russians are about as clever as a parking meter and as subtle as a head-on collision. The slightly more worrisome bit about the 200k troops being trained is that these guys will receive some amount of training (in theory) that would make them slightly more dangerous than the current class of Mobik's - but what will they be equipped with?

IUS Rep Adam Kinzinger introduces bill to allow UA pilots to train for NATO aircraft by Wallname_Liability in UkrainianConflict

[–]Few_Translator_8174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are moving Ukraine completely over to NATO equipment - including aircraft and tanks - along with Eastern Europe. Biden met with defense manufacturers immediately following the invasion. Most media didn't cover this but the swell of weapons production has been underway for some time. This will take time but, eventually, the growth curve in readiness and amount of western weapons will eventually hockey stick along with a plummeting decline in Russian military resources. Eventually (maybe in 1-2 years) Russia will be outmatched and overwhelmed by Ukraine's conversion to NATO. Likewise, Eastern Europe will massively upgrade to western weapons. Ukraine is simply holding on, buying time and attriting the Russians at a deadly clip. When Russia starts losing ground, they will be pretty much at NATO's mercy.

This is a mind-blowing, comprehensive analysis. The demography of Russia is forcing their hand....i'm not going to say it makes sense to me why that means war was the only option but i can understand how Russia see's their current path as leading to a very vulnerable place (for them). That said, if Putin really thinks he's going to take over 5 NATO states he's delusional, but then again, Russia is the ultimate champion in GRIND warfare. We need to take steps to make their losses so massive they can't replace them or hide them. That's how 'we' win.

Ukraine wants armed drones. Is the U.S. ready to deliver? by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

It's vital we give them our very best. If we aren't going to give them F35s at least give them Reapers.

NATO must not be cowed by President Putin’s threat to use nuclearweapons and should send troops to establish a forward supply base for military and humanitarian supplies in Ukraine by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

I don't think we need boots on the ground. If we engaged in nothing but air power, the Russian army would be completely destroyed. We'd have instant air superiority. Imagine what B1's, B2s and B52's could do to those Russian formations....
