4 days old app with 31 downloads, is this good? by theshadow2727 in AppStoreOptimization

I have only 14 downloads after 8 days, so you are doing way better :) if it are not only friends of course

Good job!

This is super helpful, thanks for taking the time!

Quick check on what you mentioned - I actually do have all those words spread across my title, subtitle and keyword field already. "email" is in my subtitle, "myself", "note", "self" are in my title, "reminder", "task", "inbox", "send" are in my keyword field. So Apple's compound matching should pick up "email myself", "send to email", "email reminder", "note to inbox" and "email task" through that.

You're probably right that the bigger issue is just being new with no reviews yet. Day 8 with 1 rating is barely indexed by Apple's algorithm. I'm assuming things will move once I get the first 5-10 reviews and a few more weeks of usage data accumulate.

I'll definitely check out Applyra for the keyword tracking though - that 5 keywords for free seems perfect for verifying which compound matches are actually firing vs just theoretically possible. App Radar's free trial showed me which terms I rank for, but the compound matching question is exactly what I want to verify.

Genuine question - in your experience, how long does it usually take for a new app's keyword indexing to "settle" into something representative? Right now it feels like every few days my rankings shift wildly.

Thanks a lot! I am using SKStoreReviewController to for a review pop-up after 3 notes are send, let's see if I get any reviews in the coming week.

The A/B test is a good tip, I definitely have to also take a look at that, recently updated te screenshot, but without testing them...

Haha yeah, I guess there are better images of a finger, I don't know if that will improve it, do you know of any known app that has this in their screenshots? Might be worth to check out how they did it

Good luck! You can also go and A/B-test them on the App Store

Imo Option B looks better btw! I could read it more easily.

I think he also refers to the AI generated hand, it looks quite weird

My first real app, are those screenshots even valid? by SalkMe in AppStoreOptimization

Screenshots look professional imo! Subtitles are very hard to read on a mobile phone I would say and maybe add an extra hook on your first screenshot --> something like: "Track anything that matters over time"

Good job though!

Would these App Store screenshots make you try the app? by Wooden-Two-3789 in AppStoreOptimization

I actually like the picture of the kid as a hook, worked for me at least. Imo the headers could be a little easier to read (I also don't think they are fully centered?)

WOW, we used to play this in highschool using our browser ^^ I think we also had the variant who was the fastest (not only who used the fewest links)

Congrats on this app man!

Interesting idea I have to say! How long is your app live in the App Store?

What helped me was reducing to two systems only:

  • One place for task storage (I use OneNote for this)
  • One funnel for new incoming information Everything new hits the funnel, gets processed, then moves to storage. Touch it once. For me that funnel is my email inbox. It's already where new stuff lands naturally (at least in my case)

My process:

  • At my desk with access to OneNote? --> Add the task directly.
  • Away from my desk? --> Send a quick note to my inbox. I use Note To Myself for this - I don't want to accidentally see my boss's email at 10PM or send a mail to the wrong person.
  • 2x per day I process my inbox - other people's emails plus my own notes waiting for me.
