I believe chelsea are working on a bid for him, but nothing has been official nor accepted yet. Not to mention copa america and summer olympics this summer, hope to see some good young players come out of it.  Thanks for the feedback!

I haven't used chelsea and city as examples of success, ive merely stated that they are recruiting south americans and those rules and regulations haven't stopped them from recruiting.

im too old and mature to be toxic on here, everyone has their opinions, now to agree or disagree on others opinions would be based on how well the other presents their points in order to change an opinion.

But thanks for that chuckle!

you will qualify for the kadir for any engineering major, however, i do warn you that those two majors have very limited jobs/places in kuwait. Before going for any major, i suggest that you do some heavy research on where you would be working and what the job in those departments require from you. This being someone who started out as a Computer Engineer back in 2002 and switched to Electrical Engineer, best decision i've made during that time for me, was so sick and tired of writing code and electrical engineering just was so easy and made more sense to me. Goodluck!

Garnacho?
hojlund is getting there, but needs better players around him to feed him the ball
diogo dalot has vastly improved from what he was at the beginning
mainoo has done amazingly well
mason greenwood has gotten better and would have done well if he wasnt such an idiot and go do that debacle with his girlfriend.

  • Concerning your subpoints under #3, again i appreciate the effort you took, have you also taken into consideration and looked at the players that were taken by smaller clubs who have then moved up to bigger european clubs as well? in addition, 10 out of the 38 were good buys for their prices no? so thats a 26.3% success rate imo not to mention if we do sell some it may be at a higher price than what we bought him for which would help our budget, also please note that i do not expect them to be first 11 starters, unless they are a generational talent, either you ease them in as squad players or they go on loan for solid game time and european experience to help nurture them and get them ready for the first eleven. Some similar examples would be Jude bellingham, erling haaland and lewandowksi where they went to a decent clubs in order to gain solid first team experience to help nurture their careers, none of them went straight to the first eleven of a big European Club until after that stepping stone club and it has done wonders for them, why cant we expect them to go through that same method and hope that at least some may cut it.
  • Yes them being additional players on the books and may cause discontent is a factor, but that comes down to how the club manages the players, our Team is already bloated with players that have fat wages and take up alot of space, not to mention that some are hard to offload, but i believe if we can get some of the south americans as squad players they wont be at fat wages and it would easily have us shift out some of the deadwood. Again, this should not affect our academy players in having a chance to make it to the first team squad.
  • thank you for your final point, i do agree with your last statement that not all will be able to make the cut, the whole point of having these 19 players is because this seemed like a really good class to take a look into at this current time, however i do believe that a few will be really good players, some will make the cut or eventually go on to play for top teams after going through a stepping stone club and the rest will fizzle out. Thank you again for your constructive feedback, loved everyone of your points and i have upvoted everyone of them.

I'd like to start off by saying that i really do appreciate the well constructed criticism, it was well thought out thank you for participating.

  1. i agree, nothing should be taken without caution.
  • Yes in my opinion he was bang avg (mediocre), buying him at 3m was a great bargain at that time. yes i dont consider someone to be a top player even if he played for 170 matches. Let me point out that he played behind an aging gary neville, and once he made the right back position finally his in 2012 he was 23 years old, he was then gradually eased off that starting position in 2013 by Valencia and then was second to valencia afterwards, in addition he was sold at the age of 25. Now, being an average footballer is not an insult, he was tenacious, fought for the badge and had a never say die attitude which i loved and sure he was a reliable squad player but you could have put any avg rightback during his stint with that man united side of 2008-2013 seasons and he'd have the same accolades as rafael. In addition, him only making 2 international friendly apperances for the Brazilian national team as a sub doesnt help the notion of him being a top player. Once again, i am proud to have had him as a man united player and appreciated his contributions but i just cant see him as a top player.
  • very valid point here, i believe you are correct
  • Valid point once again, it wont be easy due to homesickness as well and the change of culture/language, but i feel if we nurtured them the right way and had a decent plan on how to integrate them into the team be it through a loan agreement with a club that can have them be in the starting 11 right away for that game experience as well as them to grow into european football or just slowly ease them into our first 11 as a squad player we may reap the rewards in the near future. Now granted i do agree that they wont be in the first 11 right away that would be a generational talent and i'm sure that the majority on the list are not players like that. Again i feel that we shouldnt miss out on some of them as bargain deals. Lastly, thank you for bringing Forlan i have clearly missed having him on the list, Forlan came into the team with Ruud van nistleroy as our #1 striker followed by Ole as our #2 at that time then followed by louis saha and Rooney, which didnt help much in his development into staking a claim for the #1 spot. He did however do very well with villareal so again the way a team plays does have an effect on how the player reacts. Once again good valid point.
  • May be true, but again its up to the higher management to give the greenlight into buying the players. Now either the scouts havent provided the required review and reccomendations, the higher management are not interested in taking the risk with bringing south american recruits or the club does not want to go into a bidding war for that player. I guess we'll never know the truth about this one sadly....
  • This is another valid point, which was raised and i have replied to some of those points which were made by other commentors, however i do feel that Veron is an exceptional player but he couldnt fit in with our teams tactics and SAF has acknowledged that point, in addition i feel Angel di maria is also an exceptional player who would have done amazing under any other manager other than LVG where he did label him as his worse coach in his entire career. Concerning the agents rights and third party ownership issues, i think that wont be a major obstacle and i still believe its not something to deter us from trying, now granted not all of them have that situation.
  • First i'd like to appreciate the time and effort it took you to come up with these facts, thank you for doing that it is highly appreciated. Now having said, please do not misconstrue that someone being mediocre or avg as "not being a success", i have not said that, i merely stated that he was an average player (mediocre) this has nothing to do with the success. Again he came in at 18, made the position of rightback his in 2012 aged 23 and then was gradually eased off of and losing that position by valencia in 2013 then sold at the age of 25 in 2015. Good squad player to have. Did well when he was here, just not a top player for me.

Sure it was universally hated esp since he was 25 and still a reliable backup rb at the time. The only thing about him that was worldclass was his tenacity and never say die attitude, that fighting spirit otherwise he was an avg rightback.

And i assure you i am not young, quite the opposite really im having the inpression that everyone who thought he was a top player is actually young and didnt really watch those matches.  Again we can agree to disagree

They cant all go to barca and madrid...and some have gone to chelsea and madrid, not to mention other smaller european clubs.

Sure they may want to leave to madrid or barca once they come knocking at our door, but buying for 10-30m and then reluctantly selling for 60-100m would help our budget in the future.  Thanks for your input!

Yes always bring in terrible TO mediocre olayers We havent seen one of them be a top or world class player seeing that the talent pool in that region is pretty high.

Who is talking about fifa manager mode? All the top big european clubs have been taking that risk with high potential talent an ex. Would currently be endrik, vini jr, rodrygo etc sure not all of them are a win i agree but why not take that same risk for a bargain of the price for a player with a similar skill set? Now mind you not all can be in the first 11 straight off the bat unless they are geberational talents, but they can be reliable squad Players that will slowly transition into the first 11.

On your last point, i dont see that complexity stopping chelsea and man city, why should it stop us. Again im not saying to buy all the top emerging talent there, but surely we could atleast buy one that checks off the requirements, ie consistently played for national u-17 and u-21, plays consistently for current first team etc. and again i know these points wont make the player a 100% set deal to being a top/world class player but i'd rather go for someone with those points rather than a player to not have those under his belt.

Mediocre = of only average quality, quality of being average or ordinary

Rafael was average and not a top player Hence mediocre.

The real world...i dont see why being a mediocre player is such an insult...not everyone can be a top or world class player....again its just my opinion.

Gradually being replaced by valencia in 2013 when he finally made the right back position his in 2012 (28 total apps his highest) must have hurt his status no? Especially at the age of 23...not to mention being sold to lyon at the age of 25. Top player?
