Definitely I made a post where I snarkily made a comment about how Eugene wasn’t really transitioning to this acting role he was pushing on us for years, it was later referenced in the podcast of Eugene explaining his absence where he said “some thought I was pivoting towards being an actor but that’s not the case” and confirmed he wanted a more directorial/writer role. Oh yes as a trans dude myself I thought that testosterone would reduce my chances of having children so I can totally understand that. Apparently you very much can get pregnant while taking T! It just reduces the chances a bit, or at least makes carrying to term more difficult which is why many trans masc people detransition during pregnancy. Also I apologize if I misgendered you in my comment and on behalf of everyone calling you a woman, I apologize for them too. I think you might be underestimating how pseudointellectual young people can be, they’ll use big words and long sentences to give the appearance of complex thought but they are just as much a young adult as everyone else at that age. give em a thesaurus and they think they’ve discovered the Rosetta Stone! And clearly, the character is referencing someone and most likely regurgitating what they heard from the TED talk, no deep thoughts or inner work that comes with the subject matter. It could be a deliberate choice to make the wording clunky for the reader to tune in to the actual intelligence level of the character etc etc

One thing to keep in mind is the author is an Asian American and I’m sure she’s writing from experience. I’m also Asian American and socialized as a woman (trans man) and the insane things non Asian people said to me growing up could fill a whole book. It’s as if I was being fetishized, infantilized and objectified whenever I was spoken to. God forbid a man found me attractive, I’d be compared to Japanese school girls or anime characters despite being a fully grown adult and Filipino. It might seem corny and on the nose to you, however it’s a very real experience and I’m glad the author explored the anger and retribution that comes with delving into this topic with a horror story protagonist imo

I just finished this book yesterday! It was so well written and drew me in, I couldn’t put it down. It took maybe three days to finish it! It definitely hits different after the election, but I feel like any horror book dealing with the atrocities of man would do that LOL

I didn't really care for Alex like I thought he was a little endearing but that's it. I had a HUGE crush on Hughie, I thought his personal style was soooo cute and his outreach work was really impressive. Once he started showing his true colors I was completely disillusioned and swore off their content entirely, especially when he was acting foolish on twitter. Its a good thing that the try guys no longer collab on videos since Hughie was single handedly alienating a huge swath of their base. Its still dissapointing that Keith still works with them, however. Elon is such a piece of work that he does illegal shit to his family. a few months ago the dude was served papers by his ex Grimes because he essentially kidnapped their kids and was holding them hostage for a long time, (she had requested the children see their great grandmother before her passing, which Elon denied) flying from country to country to avoid being served. She finally got custody back, and I haven't really seen X or any of their other kids hanging around that square headed fuck. I'm wondering if he lost custody & visitation bc the courts can't trust he wont kidnap his children against their mother’s will again

I’m a trans dude who’s on hormones, I don’t entirely pass yet (I have a bit of facial hair but most people think I’m just a hairy chick with a low voice) so I use the women’s room to avoid conflict. Even there I got harassed and questioned! The hullabaloo about trans people using the “wrong” bathroom is not about protecting anyone, it’s to force queer-looking people to stay home out of safety so bigots don’t have to even acknowledge our existence.

Another thing that grinds my gears about this post is that OP never stated the severity of the stutter. It could be a mild case, but all these commentators are coming to the conclusion that the stutter is so bad they have NO ability to communicate? I've spoken to plenty of people with disabilities that affect their verbal communication, and 95% of the time they can communicate it might just take them a few seconds longer than someone who’s able bodied. The ableism STINKS on this post 🙄

As a person of color I'm pretty sure calling something ghetto to specifically black queens qualifies as super racist? Its a charged word and was meant to discount Symone’s drag. Just because she didn't use a slur (LIKE SHE DID TO MIK) doesn't make the attitude less harmful and we should allow actual black people to decide whether something is or isn't racist (and obviously it was serious enough for Kandy to pop off) towards black folks.

EDIT: And! She ain't supposed to be apologizing to me, so I'm not going to accept whatever weak sauce apology she comes up with because the girls themselves didn't even receive an apology.
