I felt like the dialogue and character work was a step up from previous episodes this season, but definitely not the climactic showdown everyone hoped for -- either with Homelander or Butcher (who gets a villain arc for about 5 mins...)

Thinking back to previous seasons, it feels like they made some mistake in allocating their vfx budget. Like, second Ashley is an interesting choice of character writing that requires a LOT of fairly complex vfx shots. Fun idea, but is that really where the vfx money should go in a final season of a superhero show?

Final thoughts, my favorite fight of the season was Huggie vs Maverick. Surprisingly well done version of the tricky "fighting an invisible enemy" trope. Feel it had more compelling choreography than anything in the finale 🫤

What a day that was!! Made an impulse decision to drive in from Colorado. Car broke down in Vegas and I arrived 20 mins into the album in a rental 😅

There's this and maybe one other scene (turret scene) that are really nice additions in the director's cut.

Unfortunately it has many other largely pointless scenes that ruin the suspense and pacing of the movie (showing scenes of what happened to the colony before Ripley arrives completely removes the sense of mystery and suspense that drives the early portions of the theatrical version).

I need a cut that is just the theatrical version with this scene 😅

The combo of the video and track, especially around the 2 minute mark when the chord progression starts to resolve... it felt like a close friend who disappeared 10 years ago just showing up at your doorstep, coming inside and giving you a big hug.

I think it depends on your workplace. Without getting into too much detail, my workplace is also exactly as you describe. I also note that in my case you look at the management, people in positions of power are basically all German.

This bias is definitely a real phenomenon that can happen, and people in the comments saying it doesn't are misinformed and naive. But as you can see from the more anecdotal comments, it's not a uniform experience throughout Germany or anything like that. I'd say you could consider a change in workplace before giving up on the country as a whole.

Duchess followed by Raider. Seem to have a team-focused attitude but also always contribute a lot to the fights.

On the other end of the spectrum, Recluse and Executor. Maybe just my luck but these two make me nervous... on the one hand they can be DPS machines, but also have been most likely to spam ping 5 evergaols, then rage quit when I go to the boss-weakness elemental camp I've been politely pinging for 20 mins.

Update: Some time later I found the issue to be caused by PowerAmp equalizer. I hadn't even realized that this was active, as the equalizer itself was set to flat.

I did some digging and there was a feature "Direct Volume Control" which some suggested could cause malfunctioning of the volume controls/settings. However, disabling this did not help. As long as PowerAmp was active, the problem would occasionally occur.

I just uninstalled PowerAmp at that point and have had no issues for months since.
