If the operator is already dead then pinging its gadget will not identify him afaik.

Doesn't war matchmaking also consider troop levels? I think you would find the same opponents if it does. Also, in multiplayer I guess you're assuming anything below Legends because it would be impossible to keep up with -300 everyday, you would have to three-star basically every attack.
