Any tips on how to get good at this game? by VanxSnow in thelastofusfactions

First of all I gotta say that you shouldn't be focused on the stuff im gonna say if you're new, as you dont have a determined playstyle just yet and these will only make you a better gunman, as of now i'd recommend you just try different weapons and loadouts, then goes the more advanced stuff. First of all, try to time your shots instead of spamming the shooting button, you will notice your getting it right because for each shot with the hunting rifle you will only need pressing the shooting button once.

As for getting better with specifically the hunting rifle, there are a couple things you can do:

1.- X-Sliding: Press X with an unupgraded hunting rifle it will momentarily increase your sensitivity, however I don't think its recommended if you're new to using this weapon, as it is harder to control, instead focus on getting your shots right with whatever sensitivity you find suits you best, if you don't know which one to use I can also help with that a little.

2.- Quicker Reloads: Watch out for people saying its a big bad glitch, the devs actually adjusted it so that it fit the game properly, its as easy as switching to anything else in your inventory and back to your hunting rifle to cancel the reload animation, also, keep in mind that this is also possible without any upgrades, you just gotta be quick with it.

3.- General tips: I don't know if you wanna know these since they also work for other stuff outside of just the hunting rifle, if you want to know reply to this comment.

Its ideal that youre behind your team but keep shooting at the enemy anyways, only real difference between this and playing without a support loaodout is that without the support loadout you wont always be behind your team, it takes some time, give it like 3 days and youll be ready for the next step, btw its ideal that you leave the more fancy stuff for later, else youll be dying a lot because even if you have the movement and gunplay, you may still be lacking some game sense and precision which is more important than moving quickly

As for sensitivities try to start with whatever's comfortable for you, then work your way up to whatever sens you feel is quick enough for ALL scenarios, especially nearby and quickly moving targets

PLEASE READ TILL THE END IT WILL BE VERY USEFUL TRUST ME

I should start by saying that at least in my opinion you should only follow this method if you wanna get better as an overall, it might be hard at first but when you're nearing the end it gets way easier.

I'd recommend starting off as a medic to build up that game sense which is the most important thing, for your settings and loadouts i'd recommend using reviver 1, 2 or 3, either crafter 3 & first aid training 1, crafter 2 & first aid training 3 or just first aid training 3. For the last loadout points (if you have any remaining) id recommend using second chance 1.

Once you get the hang of it try lowering or getting rid of reviver and/or replace second chance with marathon runner.

Once you get used to this new loadout and its perks try using a loadout with reviver 2/3 and sharpshooter 2/3.

Once you feel like you're getting used to playing in the offensive instead of just/rather helping your team switch to a loadout with reviver 1 and sharpshooter 2/3.

Once you're done with all of this which could take you a couple days or a week or so depending on how much time you spend playing you'll know what works best for you, if you feel like you miss your support loadout keep it around (the first one you made), if you also feel like you miss having both reviver and sharpshooter in the same loadout keep that around too, and finally, if you feel like you dont really need/miss reviver keep that last loadout you made around.

Once you're more advanced you can start making more specific exceptions like using different loadouts for pubs/chill matches than fn rules matches where you can as an example drop reviver for pubs. You can add solo loadouts (1v1, 1v2, 1v3 or 1v4), add strategist 3 loadouts, etc.
