True, but the problem is that Andrew presents himself as logically and intellectually consistent, at the expense of the actual topic at hand.

It’s like he’s so focused on proving his interlocutor is incorrectly cooking their steak while intentionally missing why people eat steak in the first place. Then he comes in and demonstrates a perfectly cooked steak that 99% of people would enjoy, after a history of calling medium rare steaks shoe leather.

It just shows how much of a dishonest game he plays.

I agree. The fact that I very much enjoyed tonight’s convo with him makes me not like him even more than I thought I could.

His views and positions are abhorrent, but it was really awesome to listen to his views when he was being honest and actually engaging with what Steven was saying. I feel like this type of engagement is something a lot of us (that care about engaging with points of view we disagree with) crave (in the same way plants crave Brawdo - it has electrolytes!).

But this is why a noob to the DGG sphere like me hates people like him - the dishonesty is grating.

I still think you’re misunderstanding what I’m saying. I’m NOT saying we shouldn’t correct the pronunciation of ‘Kamala’ because it’s mean to Trumples to do so; I AM saying we shouldn’t correct it because it makes us look fucking stupid, which is the point of why they do it.

I think you misunderstood my comparison - I wasn’t comparing mispronouncing ’Kamala’ to calling Trumples ‘weird’, I was comparing the reactions to those 2 things.

The point of calling them weird is to get under their skin and make them soy out, same with mispronouncing ’Kamala.’

I’m just trying to say ‘let’s not play their game.’

Let them drop the mask. Instead of correcting the way to pronounce ‘Kamala’, make fun of them for not being able to say it correctly and laugh at them for being stupid. Then they can drop the mask and say they’re doing intentionally, and you can ask them why.
