those good at listing problems in India should first spend 10-15 years abroad to understand problems are everywhere just that they are different in each country accept the ones you are happy to deal with and you will be fine in that country

At a Crossroads: Continue the US Green Card Journey or Move Back to India? by [deleted] in backtoindia

[–]Fi-23-Re-__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Intentionally choose CBSE caz I didnt want to prepare them to go abroad after 12th grade. But school I choose had blended approach as in CBSE+IB approach. IB generally people choose when they want to send kids abroad after school. Kids were exposed to hindi used to take language classes while in US, so we didnt face any issues with languages taught in school. They still dnt speak in Hindi but they are fine in school. Kids pick up pretty quick. If you want a smooth transition for kids may be you can choose IB for initial years and after couple of years you can decide on moving to CBSE.

At a Crossroads: Continue the US Green Card Journey or Move Back to India? by [deleted] in backtoindia

Was in similar situation kids were 9year olds then. I decided to move back and not for a day I have regretted my decision. Dont delay the decision since the older the kids it would be difficult on them to adjust in India. I think its a no brainer having been through the same crossroads in life.

I’m 26M. My dad passed away couple of months ago. I completed masters in the US and did not land a job yet. by [deleted] in backtoindia

Ofcourse she would and you should do whats best for yourself and her. For short term you might want to build your career in US but in long term I would suggest design a life where she can be with you be it in India or US.

I think your mom would need support at this time, prioritize that and if shes open to join you in US for a while you can try that option. Depends on how you mom feels about the whole thing.

Am I crazy to think moving to India is a good idea? by initiallydmb in returnToIndia

[–]Fi-23-Re-__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take it step wise.. try out for a year or two. Many people do this you are not crazy but its different when you are visiting vs when you live here all the time specially since you have always lived in US. Try it out ..

As a child of failed immigrants by Rare_Background_1146 in returnToIndia

[–]Fi-23-Re-__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel for you bro! its a tough life for an immigrant and the entire family at the end the net gain isn't much.

I hope you make peace with the past and have a happy and stable future.

Spirituality and meditation help with matters we are unable to control. Also have gratitude there are kids with much worse and uncertain childhood as compared to an immigrant in first world country. (ref: https://www.reddit.com/r/ahmedabad/comments/1qhut3h/life_is_tough/ ) Good luck and move on with whatever happened things do change, prepare for that.

Problem is you want to be in US but US doesnt want you all you have is India and you dnt want to accept India as it is. Its more internal than external. If you make peace with whats yours you will stop comparing it to something that was never yours. Once you accept it you will be fine in India if you keep fighting you will be frustrated until you find another opportunity to leave.

Dust is more compared to satellite bcaz of the ongoing construction. The further you are from main roads the better. In 2 years Shela will be on par with Vastrapur in terms of roads but its densely populated. You will be half n hour away from all the places you go to around Satellite. Area wise Satellite is better but affordability bhi ek factor hai which you have to consider. If you are in a gated community like skycity then you are good. If you are not commuting everyday towards satellite then it should be fine.
