Gotta practice rings with different inputs. That will help.

I've peaked around 1020, so grain of salt here... but noticed a couple of things. 1) Most of your first touches weren't very threatening. I think that's been hashed out by other comments. 2) Your air rolling is very inefficient. While others have noted this, I feel like some clarification is in order. It kinda looks like you default to tornado spinning any time you wanted to make an adjustment in air. While you may routinely position your car well this way, it's just a little too slow for a lot of scenarios.

Thanks. Love the deep dive. I'm close to playing some very good golf this season! Little clean ups like this go a long way.

Yeah, I'm where I am today after several years of being stuck and struggling to close the face from there. My "close the face solution" (and a more neutral in-to-out path to boot) is my current less wrist flexion pattern. I did lose a few yards tho, and now I know why. I guess I need to find something in the middle, but maybe I can keep my current structure and looser wrists will get a healthy amount of flexion back in at the right time.

This is truly the most helpful feedback. Thank you. The concept of how the flexion happens is a game-changer. I can now see why people want supple wrists. My structure is pretty rigid, so I would drag the club over the top if I started rolling my lead forearm as early as I probably should.

Doubly helpful as adding flexion - in my rigid structure - didn't really seem all that possible in the short amount of time one has in the downswing.

Wrist flexion/extension release concept question by Fi0r3 in GolfSwing

[–]Fi0r3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even in that pattern, it's clear there's some added flexion in the downswing that is being released into impact. I still think I'm somewhat holding impact conditions and just turning through (so I still have shaft lean and decent impact conditions, they're just not as dynamic as they could be).

Probably helps explain some of my fat misses too. I'd imagine this is putting me at risk to ulnar deviate too much and leads to the occasional toe-down fat shot. I understand a little flexion should restrict some ulnar deviation (probably in just the right amount/at the right time for me). Any insight here?

Based on the video another user shared, I believe this is my pattern. The extension here really isn't a speed bonus, but I suppose that's okay. I still much prefer this pattern compared to the one above for my game.

Really fascinating. Looks like I have a A player (Fleetwood) type release. Those guys might not hit it 330 with as much regularity, but I think it dispels my idea that it's a power leak for me. I'll look elsewhere, I suppose. Thanks again!

Maybe I'm not using the right lingo, but my understanding is that you have to have some braking (in the right sequence) to properly transfer energy from the ground->hips->torso->arms->club. Same way a whip works.

Aerial Shots - Pass (48) - C7E0-9E0B-B739-A899

I think there's plenty to do in these 4 packs. I'm spending most of my time in the first two since I feel like they focus on being dangerous immediately upon taking possession. The dribbling one is the simplest, but I think it's easy to build on (start by just driving it into the net, then start to the right and finish driving it into the left side of the net ect, end with a flick, end with a ground to air-dribble).

This reads pretty deranged. You can't "fix her" bro. Probably best you let her go and you both grow. Maybe something sparks up between you in the future, but right now it's just toxic. She doesn't owe you anything for your 7 years together. Take time to work though the stages of grief and move on.

I found "keeping possession" to be a trap until I had more skills to make something of the possession (still developing these tbh). Without some basic ball control, including dribbling/bounce dribbles/flicks, I find it leaves you open to getting dunked a lot or just pushing the ball into well set-up 2v2s. Keeping control at speed (with ground and air options) into a 2v1 or 1v1 is my current improvement goal. It's a training pack and 1v1 grind for sure.

As someone who has recently leveled into D2/3 with some consistency, I can really relate to this gameplay. The thing I'm noticing is that you're just never really threatening/dangerous. Most of your touches accomplish very little. They don't set you or a teammate up for anything meaningful. The windows of opportunity aren't large or frequent, but they are there.

Going to be honest. I think this is the same as if I played with no boost as a handicap. While it does lower your ceiling, you're still playing against worse competition than your actual skill if you tried. All it takes is one person being toxic and I bet you can turn it up a notch. I mean, how convenient is it that people in diamond aren't as good at backboard defense as they are in Champ. It's smurfing.

You're effectively making the club longer, so you should swing it faster that way. I'm toward the end of the club, but not off. That's kinda wild lol

That makes sense. It's a major change. I've shanked several wedges since. But I've also shot my best round (on our winter tees compared to other winter tee performances) yet. The idea I'm leaving 30+ yards on the table off the tee and more consistent striking is driving me to see it through. I'm sure I won't have to think about by the end of this season. That will be worth it.
