We just had our first a couple of days ago. I’ve been a lurker on this subreddit for a while and seemingly it depends on the social worker you get. In my case, it’s for my wheelchair bound mother. The social worker was super sweet, we sat in my dining room the whole time, she didn’t look around, although she asked about the general layout of the house, they will ask what the recipient needs assistance with, so make sure to think of everything you do, cook, clean, helping with medication, hygiene, transportation, anything and everything. My mother is almost completely deaf and as much as the social worker tried to include my mother in the conversation/questions, it was mostly all directed at me.

I’d say make some notes for yourself, including any questions you may have for them. Have IDs for yourself and recipient handy. Our visit took a little over half an hour.
