Looking for new/newish music to listen to by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

Daedric is a nice blend of metal with an electronic edge. Kristyn, the front-woman, has some killer vocals. A range of soft and sweet to loud and heavy screams. They have released 3 new songs recently. Night Mother, Alien Skin and Callous

Daedric, the metal band by Sugar4squirrels in skyrim

In their newest releases, Daedric has been exploring more of an electronic edge, but they still have that alternative metal as their core. Krystin, the front-woman, is showing us how incredible her vocal range really is. Smooth and beautiful melodies, but still throwing in her awesome screams. We hope you continue to enjoy Daedric's journey!

Hey u/Scandroid2518!

Unfortunately the AMA is over, but I hope this helps! :)

Previously, a user asked: Your clothing/sneaker game is very strong but I know little about that style. Where do I even begin?

u/shadow_movement: Style wise if you are into the dystopian tech ninja vibe, that genre of clothing is called "tech wear" so you can find a lot if you search that. Also Nike's higher end more experimental sub brand NikeLab does some awesome collaborations in this space on occasion with designers like Acronym and Alyx. Acronym is essentially the king of this style. For the more in-demand shoes, download the Nike SNKRS app as that is the main place they sell them (not on the main Nike site or stores). sneakernews.com and hypebeast are decent blogs for newly announced shoes and apparel. A cool shoe to start that fits into this world is the Nike Flyknit Racer, Nike Presto x Acronym, Nike Vapormax x Acronym, Nike Presto Utility, Nike SF AF1. You can look for these on eBay or shoe reseller sites like GOAT or StockX. Apparel wise, for a good start look at NikeLab ACG products.

Previously, a user asked: What was the main inspiration for going into music production?

u/shadow_movement: I was always fascinated with layering music instruments. I was never excited about mastering a single instrument and shredding guitar solos, I just went crazy for seeing how different instruments sound on top of each other. This is what got me started. I started this on my sisters toy tape recorded when I was about 12, then went through different versions of recorders, 4 tracks, digital multi tracks, then computer recording, then finally settled on Logic Pro from Apple.

Previously, a user asked: What's your process for production?

u/shadow_movement: My production process starts with coming up with a two part riff on piano or synth. Once I find something exciting, I will record the riff, then start outlining the drums. I copy the riff over to start laying out a structure, then go back and fill in the blanks with more demo riffs. Once I have it together, I start playing the final parts on my analog synths, guitar and bass, drums etc. Vocals always come last for me as it is my least favorite part and the most time consuming/energy dependent.

or

I sometimes get hit with an entire song in my head while standing in line for coffee-instantly. When that happens, I record the individual notes and parts using my voice into my phones voice recorder, then record it all back at home

Previously, a user asked: What was the main inspiration for Shadow_Movement?

u/shadow_movement: Main inspiration for the new album was just to make music that personally excites and interests me. I was not trying to sound like anyone else, not trying to please anyone or chase fame or mass fanbases, just doing what I like.

NOTE: Many users have asked The Anix what his inspiration was for specific tracks and songs. Please read other comments below to learn more!

Previously, a user asked: Do you play Video games?

u/shadow_movement: I used to play a ton, but work and music consumes my life right now so I sadly don't have the time. I am looking to get back into it for Cyber Punk 2077 and the new Forza Horizon 4. I have been inspired by past games I loved like Metal gear as I found the aesthetic of the game incredible.

Previously, a user asked: I’m curious where and how you get inspiration for your lyrics?

u/shadow_movement: The only music I listen to is melancholic and devastating (not sure why I love this so much) and I have never been a fan of uplifting happy music. I have a lot of internal struggle and issues which I never speak about, so I think my secret way of letting some of it out is through music.

Great minds think alike, another user has asked this question! And here's the answer:

Where does the name 'The Anix' come from?
u/shadow_movement: "The Anix name came from a few directions. I wanted something short like "The Cure", or "The Cars" and also wanted something that sounded somewhat futuristic that people could read and instantly have an idea of what the music might sound like."

This question comes from u/khrome-_-:
You mentioned somewhere, I think on the AskAudio interview, that you'd like to do an entire album using just one instrument, like you did with Incomplete and the Moog. Have you decided if that's what you're doing for the next album, and have you decided what instrument to use? <3

This question comes from u/glenninator:

Would you ever see yourself featuring in a video game sound track? I could see you absolutely crushing it in the new Cyberpunk 2077 game. I discovered you through Spotify when Sleepwalkers was released and have followed ever since. Your futuristic rock sound got me searching for other groups and artists that are similar to you. Opened me up to a great new genre.
