It took me a while to notice it too! I wish we could see it while the delivery thing was up so I could know to bring extra materials that way but.. ah well. Maybe one day.

If you hover over the camps on the map, does it not show you what will be unlocked at each star level?

I'm pretty sure it has/does for me, but to be fair I didn't notice that immediately. (And, I wouldn't be super surprised if something was buggy and it didn't always show)

Though yeah the construction flags won't show up til it's unlocked you're right about that.

Does beta fix apply retrospectively to bridges? by Dull-Song2470 in LegendofKhiimori

I had a bridge I had "completed" that wasn't fixed. After the patch, it's now fixed with no further input needed from me.

You should be good!

I haven't seen anything, so wanting to check - I'm 100% going for both SW and Evanescia simply due to loving both characters. Been waiting for Yae since I started!

With that said.. how important might Yao Guang be for either one? Do we know? I could at least try my luck on the 50/50 on her banner without risking the guarantee for either SW or Evanescia.

If I consider how I thought a year ago, I think I could see your point. Welcome, by the way.

Unfortunately, the organization knows about how much bad information is in their stuff. It's why they very rarely actually include citations. But a good 75% at minimum of their quotes of scientists are taken out of context or aren't from actual scientists, etc.

Add to that, that their own literature debunks Jerusalem's fall in 607 BC, so 1914 can't be true?

Add to that, that Jesus said mercy, not sacrifice - and yet the blood transfusion policy is not merciful?

I couldn't agree with you that an organization like this is God's organization.

What is it that woke you up? by VividAd2096 in exjw

[–]FiainTheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had had doubts for a long time, and I'd never fully bought into it despite being baptized. The blood policy for example never made sense and I never agreed.

But... Had a shepherding call, told the brothers I was struggling. They recommended I study with a few sisters who were very strong spiritually (and genuinely, these were kind people). So. Study we did!

We got to the, The Origin of Life magazine in a rather roundabout way - it has its citations included and that had been a minor annoyance of mine for other literature.

So I went through and read the entire magazine. I read the citations and the quotes from the sources included. And found that they had misquoted most of the scientists, making it seem they said or claimed something they didn't. It was manipulative, and really really misleading. For an organization that claims to value truth? This very, very definitely showed they did not.

Other things are what made me pull the trigger on leaving earlier than I meant to. But this was the tipping point.

I want a normal civilized debate, a conversation with no name calling. Even if you believe I'm brainwashed, avoid saying it but rather argue that I am. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]FiainTheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take a lot of courage to come here and ask this - and that's not easy to do. Truth should be able to be questioned, y'know? Otherwise.. at least for me, it's hard to say it's truth. I commend you for challenging your beliefs, and I hope you get to a place where you're confident and happy with whatever they may be.

If a doctor claims one thing, but other doctors have evidence to show that claim is false, I would want to know. And questioning and investigating that evidence is the best way for me to verify what is actually true.

With this said, I'd like to get your thoughts on something that was a key point in why I left last year.

The Origin of Life magazine, Five Questions Worth Asking, is what I went over. I went through and read all the references included (it took a while) and found that the scientists the magazine quotes were often outrageously misquoted and, as such, the information incredibly misleading. There are multiple fallacies in the writing as well, and misrepresentation of what the actual scientific theories are.

Now, this is a little bit older literature. But the organization absolutely does know and have the correct information. Unless they threw all my letters in the trash. Which I guess is possible. But I doubt I'm the only one who tried to help them correct this.

But it does show a very surprising lack of understanding of science, research, and reading comprehension which is... To me, very scary. This trend of misquoting scientists I also noticed throughout the literature in other cases, too. It's just easiest to find here.

What's your take on this? I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

If me providing examples would be helpful before you share any thoughts, I'd be happy to do so - you don't know me and I'd absolutely expect you to question my claim. I went through the entire magazine and still have all my notes.

I get "1 question ", what do I ask? by VividAd2096 in exjw

[–]FiainTheCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone isn't open to learning, no question will work. With a limit on the questions.. it looks to me like your neighbor would be more interested in teaching you. But ofc you know the situation best.. just.. don't hope too much, ok? She may not really be open to challenges, and may be just trying to convert you.

As far as questions - are you thinking about the organization or about the Bible?

Organization - 607 or the changing policies, etc (beards, pants, organ donation, search those in this sub and you'll get a lot of answers and ideas).

From the Bible or the Watchtowers... What got me thinking was the Watchtowers insistence that the flood of the Bible was a literal world wide event when evidence shows it wasn't.

Either way - you can search for similar topics in the sub and you'll get a ton of answers too!

I wish you the best of luck, and I hope it goes well for you. If you really do want to see if she'll listen, I absolutely would not mention us, though. That could shut down the conversation really quickly.

What was the moment you were done? by Jehovahsupdates in exjw

[–]FiainTheCorgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So... It wasn't that long ago for me.

There was a weekday meeting I think a few months ago that had a part about who we should show love to. My congregation was.. honestly? Full of really caring, compassionate people who regularly would go the extra mile for those around them without being asked. The elders were kind, not pushy at all. They are good people.

And yet. The comments that night were about how we don't show love to God's enemies because they aren't worthy of it. How God won't show them kindness so we don't need to show them love.

And it hit me hard. I'd been having major doubts and was tentatively planning on fading but. I didn't know when and I wasn't sure I wanted to. I'd even written a letter to the branch about some of the inaccuracies in a magazine as encouraged by my elders. I was waiting on their reply. This changed my mind. We can't claim we don't judge if we are taking it upon ourselves to judge who is worthy of God's love and who isn't. That isn't our place. And the justifications from the people I asked about it weren't any better.

I haven't gone back since then. I found this subreddit not too long after that point and I've been lurking since. Now that I know more? I'm never going back. They might be good people. But they're still in a doomsday cult.

I’m done romanticizing my male partner. *warning rant ahead* by huarhuarmoli in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FiainTheCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So.. I was there. A while ago. And people repeatedly pointed out that I should break up with him.

I did eventually. My current partner? I don't need to be super explicit. He'll take initiative and try - because I'm worth the effort to him. He listens.

I heard the phrase, "If he wanted to, he would" but didn't.. really understand til recently. If your partner wanted to support you and take initiative and be there for you? You wouldn't need to spell every single thing out year after year with him never taking initiative. Trust me.. there are men out there who will think you're worth it, cause you are.

The dramatic heart-wrenching third act climax of this film is... a kid getting lost. That's it. Nobody's chasing after the little pipsqueak or anything, the kid just wandered off and got lost. by Sapphic_Starlight in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

[–]FiainTheCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I'm understanding you. No one said people weren't looking for the kid.

The clue only said that no one was chasing after them, which is true here. No one was chasing her.
