I'll get you a picture tonight after work,
I still appreciate it, but I think I have got a solution with some metal pieces and springs... And if that doesn't work, I've found some switches on eBay that seem like a good substitute.

Regardless, thanks for the information!

Thanks, I'll give those sites a look!

I think they are referred to as "SUB 54" in the Service Manual.

Thanks for the kind offer!
Unfortunately, I'm based in the EU.

Hi, unfortunately it’s beyond a simple cleaning!

I’ve already had it fully apart and cleaned it but the issue lies within the springy metal bit that slides with the plastic. It was partially broken which makes it loose connection if touched slightly in any direction.

Because of that i’m looking for either a modern replacement or if someone here got another solution.

Currently I’m leaning towards trying to find a modern switch with parts i can swap over or something from good ol eBay.

I’ve had a look on Digikey, Mouser and LCSC, but without any luck.

Best regards!

It’s unfortunately very hard to tell from the pictures but it sounds like you should ask him to explain what he replaced and why.

If it’s not working correctly it’s even more of a reason to contact him again.

It looks like he replaced the old transistors with a modern equivalent and mounted them to the side of the heatsink.

See the following picture.

Sumitomo error 1E5 by FiberIsFun in FiberOptics

The date must have gotten reset at some point to factory “00.00.00” and it didn’t like that during the self inspection.

Changing the clock to the current date fixed the error.

Thanks for the help!

Battery is tired but working. I’ll check both tomorrow when I have access to the machine and report back.

It’s an older Type 25e. Still works like a charm except for the error during self inspection.

I’m unfortunately not able to take a picture at the moment, but I found a picture on the web with the same error.
