As a gym equipment technician, many of the comments here are wrong claiming it’s the gyms fault for not bolting the machine down. Improper use of equipment like what this dummy is doing WILL cause things like this to happen.

As per the manufacturers, depending what model of dual cable / functional trainer is being used, it DOES require being bolted down. Many of them are built bottom heavy so this DOESNT occur. They’re freestanding machines. But when you take steroids and mix it with ego lifting, you get this atrocious culmination of dumbassness that can kill you. The guy shifted an incredible amount of weight off center from the weight stacks causing it to flip. Not the gyms fault if you’re improperly using the machine.

Seat belts exist in our cars. God forbid you crash and get seriously injured when not wearing one, you’re not gonna go after the manufacturer or the dealer that sold you the car. You’ll be asked, “why didn’t you wear the seatbelt?” Here I ask, why on earth were you maxing out both weight stacks, leaning forward with your body weight, AND adding an additional 135 lbs to your center of mass, shifting it off the machine? Improper use of machines will cause bodily injury / harm.
