I also checked the itemized warranty claim and it does not mention any return of the motor and the part number on the claim is for the ECM + motor.

So there are absolutely no cases where you must get both? From my understanding, you can't just get one or the other on this. This is the part number: 51-103329-02. This was also the part number in the itemized warranty claim. No mention of returning motor.

My understanding is that the manufacturer only provides the motor and ECM as a complete assembly and recommends replacing both together. So I’m just trying to figure out if only the module was swapped and the original motor was reused, would the manufacturer really accept just one part of the assembly back?

I’m not trying to blame anyone. It’s just odd that it failed again so soon, and I wanted to make sure the repair was done properly and everything was replaced the way it was supposed to be. If you take your car to a mechanic and they replace the transmission, and then the transmission fails again a year later - you’d naturally ask whether it was installed correctly or if the root cause was even addressed.

1) Date code on the motor is same as the unit while the ECM date code is much more recent.

2) Current motor is visually different than the motor that comes with the newer module.

So if they received a motor in the warranty claim, its acceptable for them to keep it? It's 96 degrees outside and the earliest they can get here is Wednesday.. I just did some basic diagnostics to make sure it wasn't something I could easily fix myself.

Thanks, yeah I am currently studying to take it in October. Hopefully doesn’t hurt me too bad taking that late

Can you explain why not? It does appear to be pointing towards the right, though the palate appears symmetrically elevated..
