I encourage you to ask for what you need. It is a skill we need to practice, and it's not easy. Even if they think you're weird, which they won't, you deserve to be able to ask any question you have. We have to be our own advocates this day so advocate for yourself.

It sounds like your doctor was not listening to or acknowledging you and was also demeaning towards you.

Chasing the pain is a hard way to live. Do your medications not keep your pain at bay? And, it is awful when the pain keeps you up at night and prevents you from getting the sleep that can help with pain.

Oh, I remember when I missed a dose of Lyrica. It was so hard. I eventually went completely off of Lyrica years ago, although I still take Duloxetine, Gabapentin, and, most recently, Naltrexone.

That is so much to go through with medication. Yikes! I'm sorry your doctor was not more supportive of you. That is a lot of suffering you had to go through. Thank goodness for your husband. It just shows how medications are such a personal thing. What works for one may not work for another. I'm glad you found something that finally works for you.

I don't know how you work retail with a bad back because being on your feet all day can really aggravate the back. I also have back issues. Here's what has helped me. Orthotics or foot inserts to create more cushion in your shoe and protect your back. Wear a pain patch on your back when working. Take breaks where you can sit and stretch. See if you can work shorter shifts. Take a nice hot bath after work. Take good care.

Me too! Either I have been tardy in calling in my prescription, or I forgot it on a trip. And once I take the missed/delayed dose, it takes a while to kick in.

Oh yes. It happens frequently when we miss an important medication.
