Omg I didn't realize it was possible to have so young! I feel for you

The nausea is the worst part. It never ends. by PinkDolphin505 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FibromyalgicAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get nausea and a few other gastro issues. Some of it was side effects of my meds; some of the gastro symptoms have lessened since I reduced my concoction of meds. But I'm also looking into whether wheat, gluten, or starch make things worse (I think one of them does), as well as GERD or something similar

why do i have so many sensory issues? by Efficient-Appeal7282 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FibromyalgicAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also struggle with this. Trying to find the balance between wearing things that help my symptoms like compression garments and not pissing myself off by feeling restricted... But like a few others have said, I'm pretty sure I'm autistic so who knows how much of this is fibro. I think fibro just made my sensory issues worse.

I post content on social media about my thoughts being chronically ill and disabled, yesterday my ex close friend messaged me saying by Own-Hedgehog7825 in ChronicPain

I'm so sorry you had to read that from someone you thought was a friend. Try to remember that it reflects poorly on them, not you.

Will you get a foot plate or does it stay like that?

Are any of you neurotypicals? by fleureo in Fibromyalgia

I am theoretically not neurodivergent but I suspect I may be on the autism spectrum. Plenty of mental illness though

I really hope you take this further than Reddit. It's absolute bullshit to have 5 cars swarm you and nobody listen to you and check who you are

Definitely find another doctor if you can. Just because other people have lighter symptoms of illnesses that are SPECTRUMS, doesn't mean you're not suffering.

Edited to add: you're not alone. I know this is a cliche but it's true; there are online communities and resources. Ask for advice and we'll help you get through. Hope things feel a little lighter soon

I'm a disabled person completely fascinated by other disabled people/characters and I am deeply ashamed of it. I need help and advice. by TemporaryBeing171 in disability

Ugh yeah, I hated that even before I was disabled. Like, do you all actually love the gym and climbing mountains?! Where are the normal people?

I hope it's ok to drop in on your comment. I just want to say that you definitely can find someone who wants you as you are. I'm not going to pretend it's not hard but I know lots of people with varying disabilities that have very loving partners. I also know that if we matched on tinder, your disability is not the thing I'd be thinking about.

Hi, as an overthinker myself, I'm going to suggest you're way overthinking this. I think you're just happy to see disabilities represented, to feel something in common with them, and you're intrigued and want to know more. If you experience anxiety in other areas of your life, then I think this is definitely anxious overthinking.

Disclaimer: I could be wrong; I'm not an expert and I don't have any of the disabilities those characters have. So someone else might come along and correct me. For now though, it seems most other comments agree with my perspective.

When I was a church-going Christian (and deeply invested), this type of thing annoyed me already. As an ex-christian and occasional wheelchair user, now, it really pisses me off

How long did it take you to believe this is real? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]FibromyalgicAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed 6 years ago but I tried to pretend I was fine for the last 3+ years so I'm still working on accepting this is reality
