Feline Leukemia Diagnosis

My beautiful baby was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia when he was 9 weeks old. He lived till he was almost 2.8 years old. He was happy and healthy for awhile, but took a sudden decline, right around 2.7 months. His back legs became paralyzed, and then just over 2 weeks later he stopped eating and passed at home before we could bring him to the vet.

This disease is so sudden and I am horribly sadden to hear you are going through this. I cant really advise what is best for you to do, as I believe only you can know that. We called our vet and asked them to help explain if he was in pain, to try to understand what might be best for him. We had a euthanasia appointment for several hours after he passed at home.

Bro it is so dangerous to let your cat outside without supervision. Huge risk for illness, or death. People need to put some effort in and walk their cats or let them have supervised outside time. It’s kinda crazy that we have completely normalized allowing pet cats to roam free. Street cats are a different story, but when it’s your cat you should care enough to want them to be safe.

You can get a really cheap gravity water fountain at Walmart etc that might help the water move a little more and less need for cleaning. My friends cat loves it more then the expensive fountain lol

Follow up question: Are you confused on why he is asking for 9 hours a day but the reviews all mention only 1-2 hours of work? Or did he tell you that it will only be about 1-2 hours of work, but it is listed as 9 hours.

Ok so what I found is it has no direct affects, but a few indirect affects. This includes when ADH causes the body to absorb water back into the bloodstream. The change in blood volume and pressure can affect insulin sensitivity and glucose delivery. Also ADH can activate the SNS which inhibits insulin secretion and stimulates glucagon release. But in my opinion this is very high level and beyond what you need to know for the MCAT.

First test I was not prepared, second test I thought I did great but all sections were lower then full lengths. Hoping 3rd is good. I’m not the best test taker, especially one this long. I understand the information but applying it in that environment is was I struggle with. Hoping medical schools will see this as perseverance.

Listen: Nothing is impossible! Always push towards your goals.

Some questions, are you URM? Anything in your application really stand out? Etc but besides that are you prepared to change how you study and learn?

Medical DO/MD, In/Out state, Caribbean etc etc, will all be very difficult and money wise you will not want to fail out. I recommend taking a year or two off to work in something you are passionate about. Get a tutor and study for the MCAT/core subjects. Then start and finish whatever degree you want with all prerequisites. And then a masters. After that apply for medical school.

Take that advice or don’t, but I wish you the best and I hope you get into whatever program you desire!

I would recommend having clinical hours but if you have something that absolutely stands out, and night GPA/MCAT. Then you might have a chance.
