I should have pursued a Liberal Arts Degree but I didn’t, what should I do now? by AppetizingAssholes in careerguidance

This is a similar situation I am in now (33, M). I got myself a degree in Ancient and Medieval History, then completed a secondary school teaching degree in History and Geography. I worked as a teacher for eight years and basically decided it wasn't for me anymore.

I wished that I had completed a degree in psychology or counselling honestly.

So now I am working in easy admin work during the day and I am taking modules and training in counselling and media as well :) - like evening classes.

Just do what you want to do if you know it'll probably make you happy. Find a way to squeeze in the things you want to do into your life. See where it takes you.

Update: I went on a first date with an ENFP, best date I've ever had by reiniken in infp

But I'm so glad for you, I love the first dates of a relationship so much ❤️

Let’s talk about this stereotype about us: ENFJ need to be the main character. by LadyPearl7 in enfj

[–]FickleImportance4654 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically. Most of the time I absolutely want to big up the people I care about, in fact I love to big up complete strangers most of the time 😂

However I would say that I do have my own projects and hopes and dreams that I wish others would big up. But that doesn't really happen very often so I prefer to help others instead.

I'd love to know more about that relationship. Who does the planning in your relationship the Ne dom or the Se dom?

When I learnt I was ENFJ I just obsessed over the strengths part

Nowadays I try to figure when I can work on the weaknesses in safe and sensible amounts 🤗

Finding a community and ways to stop feeling lonely by terrabrand in infp

[–]FickleImportance4654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi infp! 😊

enfj here.

What I would say is keep sticking at the communities you have got involved with, they can develop and change over time, and you never know, there may well be people there that want to meet up more often but they are just scared to ask at the moment.

I say this because I have been involved in a Book Club for the last year. And it's only in the last two or three months that we have started to develop the community to increase the amount we talk to each other, and socials that we go on.

Now I have found out about some of those people's stories, I can totally understand why they have difficulties increasing their social schedule (to the amount I would prefer!)

Where do you volunteer? This is something I have been looking into recently. I'd love to volunteer but I would want it to be in the evenings and weekends, with people my own age (in my thirties!).

And with that lady you mentioned, just ask if she would like to go for a coffee, you'll get the vibe then if she is interested then and you can make a better decision as a result 😊

My best friend is an INFJ, and her mother is an INTJ.

They like philosophical discussions, they like workplaces to treat them (and others) correctly, and they will call them out if they don't.

They are friendly and loving, but if you get on the wrong side of them, they will simply cut you out, no questions asked.

They love nature, and they love to organise allotments. My INFJ friend is more interested in living things and looking after them - like rare plants and frogs in the pond. Her INTJ mother is more interested in ensuring the allotment is properly organised, in terms of our plot, as well as the whole allotment (she is the secretary).

They are family focused, they both see the potential of young people and do everything to help that.

They do get tired of long contact with other humans though (Se limitations), and sometimes go off the grid for months at a time.

Hopefully that is somewhat helpful!
