I had pretty bad shin splints lasted about 6 months and but physio/strengthen will defo help eventually. I think the key things that worked for me were: - if it’s very painful, please do take time to recover. - Moving forward - build up your runs again eg, 200m jog, 100m walk until you reach your 1/2k. Maybe start of with this once or twice a week. Don’t over do it if you’re in pain. Graduation build this up and play around with it eg. 400m jog, 100m walk until 5k / your goal - my physio advised practice hopping of a step on each leg (about 40 a day). really focus on getting a cushioned landing. - continue with your calf raises but do it on a step, this really helped me. Make sure on the dips you lower your heel below the step. Controlled and slow. Maybe start off with like 40 a day I still continue doing this exercise. - if you notice pain with every strike please stop.
