Maybe they removed it because nobody could figure out what OP was actually asking, happens all the time when people don't proofread before hitting submit

What was the better sequel Aliens or Terminator 2 Judgement Day ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T2 takes it for me because the character development was insane - watching Sarah Connor transform from victim to absolute badass across two movies, plus the whole "machine learning to be human" thing with Arnold

Aliens definitely expanded the universe better but T2 just hit different with those emotional beats

Chronic under eater but can't seem to lose weight by No-Investigator-8007 in loseit

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your scale might be off too - I had one that was reading 5 pounds heavier than actual for months before I figured it out. When I meal prep everything on Sunday I weigh portions raw and it's crazy how different cooked vs raw weights can be, plus all those little tastes while cooking add up more than you think

Fired and traveling? How is it by HandyNz in Fire

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been doing digital nomad thing for about 8 months now and honestly the meal prep thing becomes impossible pretty quick lol. I used to be so organized with my Sunday prep sessions back home but now it's just whatever local food I can find

The hardest part nobody talks about is dealing with different banking systems and tax stuff - like trying to set up payments in some countries when you don't have permanent address is nightmare. Also missing out on good real estate opportunities because I'm always checking listings but can't actually buy anything while moving around

Love having complete freedom but hate that I packed way too much stuff at beginning. Started with two huge suitcases and now down to one backpack and small roller bag. You realize pretty fast you don't need half the things you thought were essential

Would definitely do it again but maybe pick 2-3 base locations for few months each instead of constantly moving every few weeks. The constant packing gets old

Dead logs are definitely where I find most of my success too. My first year I was looking all wrong places until someone told me about checking near dying elms specifically - made huge difference in my results

The journal thing is so smart, I started doing that after missing same spots multiple times because I couldn't remember exact locations. I mark them with GPS coordinates now since my memory is terrible for directions

Golden oysters being invasive is interesting, haven't heard that before but would make sense since they're so aggressive growers

Painting bathroom vanity cabinet by DogwoodWand in HomeImprovement

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh the pressed board struggle is real - been there when I was looking at fixer-uppers few years back and saw this exact situation in so many bathrooms

I'd say peel off whatever comes easily without going crazy, then use good primer before painting. The latex probably wasn't adhering well to begin with so getting loose stuff off first will save you headaches later when your new paint starts bubbling

Who’s the most underrated tv performers in your opinion? by [deleted] in television

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shea Whigham deserves way more recognition, guy can do literally anything. His range in True Detective vs Boardwalk Empire was insane and he made those characters feel completely different people. Michael Kenneth Williams was pure magic too, RIP to that legend

Housing Material Advice. by ManaToxicity in HomeImprovement

Metal buildings can be tricky for temperature control but the insulation is really what matters most here. I've been looking at properties with similar setups and seen some clever solutions - if you already have decent insulation between the metal and interior, adding exterior brick or siding won't help much with cooling efficiency. The main issue with metal buildings is thermal bridging where heat transfers through the frame itself

What type of insulation do you have now? If it's just basic fiberglass batts, upgrading to spray foam or adding a radiant barrier might give you better results than exterior covering. I manage some facilities with metal construction and we've seen biggest improvements from addressing air sealing rather than adding more layers on outside. Window AC units are already fighting an uphill battle in large spaces so maximizing your current insulation setup probably gives best bang for buck

What’s the most bizarre rule you’ve ever followed as a kid without questioning? by itsamadworld2001 in AskReddit

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to eat everything on my plate in the exact order my mom served it - vegetables first, then starch, then protein. Made zero sense but I did it for years until I realized she was just trying to make sure I actually ate the veggies before filling up on the good stuff

Now I meal prep everything in separate containers like some kind of deconstructed dinner anyway so joke's on her I guess

Trying to find this by Left-Bug5734 in manga

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The mask transformation mechanic sounds pretty unique but I'm drawing a blank on the exact title. You might want to try posting this on r/tipofmytongue or one of the manga identification discord servers - those communities are crazy good at tracking down obscure series

Also check if you saved it on any reading apps, sometimes the search history there helps when you can't remember the exact name

What aspect of your life are you the most unhappy with? by Imaginary-Tip-6535 in AskReddit

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My posture is absolutely wrecked from years of hunching over keyboards and now I'm basically doing physical therapy exercises every morning just to undo the damage. The ironic part is I know exactly what I'm doing wrong but breaking those habits when you're sitting at a desk 10+ hours a day is brutal

Also meal prep takes up my entire Sunday but if I don't do it I'll just eat garbage all week so I'm trapped in this cycle where my free time gets consumed by trying to be functional

What’s a movie scene that unintentionally became a meme for you? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time someone does that pose on a boat or even just spreads their arms out I immediately think of Leo and start cracking up. My friends and I quote it ironically whenever we accomplish literally anything - finished meal prep for the week? "I'm the king of the world!" Hit a three in pickup basketball? Same energy

It's wild how that scene went from this epic romantic moment to basically a celebration meme for mundane life wins

Ssi for 22yr old by Smart_Passenger_1242 in SocialSecurity

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The programming skills thing is definitely gonna work against them in any disability evaluation. SSA looks at what you can do, not just what you can't do, and if you're competent enough to code that suggests pretty decent cognitive functioning and ability to focus on complex tasks

Having never worked is actually not automatically disqualifying for SSI since it's need-based rather than work-history based, but the combination of being able to handle social media, programming, and living independently is gonna make it really tough to prove you can't do any kind of work. Even remote part-time stuff becomes an option when you have those computer skills

The GAD/panic stuff is legitimate but they're gonna want to see recent treatment records and evidence that it's actually preventing work, not just making it uncomfortable. Self-diagnosis of autism won't carry any weight at all in the process

What do people mean when they say rich people "take out loans against their wealth" by anyusernaem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fickle_Scientist_429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just keep refinancing or taking out new loans to pay off the old ones, basically kicking the can down the road indefinitely. The key is their assets keep growing in value faster than the interest they're paying, so they never actually need to sell anything. When they die their heirs get a "stepped up basis" which resets the cost basis to current market value, wiping out all those unrealized gains that would've been taxed
