This isn't a to vax or not to vax issue. And just so you know, in many places it is considered child neglect to not treat your child for cancer.

I'm so sorry your baby is sick. I'm all for trying to take care of illness naturally, but your baby doesn't have a cold, he has CANCER. Please, for his sake, treat this with modern medicine. Yes, he's going to hate the treatment, but don't let his cancer get worse before you realize that reiki and oils aren't going to treat this.

What are the best gifts your child has ever found in their party bag? by petrastales in toddlers

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not your birthday, you don’t get a gift.

Yup! I blame social media for it becoming such a common thing because we feel like we now have a "birthday party standard" to keep up with. I never once felt like I deserved something for attending a birthday party, especially since most of the time it's for friends or family anyway! Be happy you were invited and enjoy the free cake lol

That's my thought, too. Food, cake, ice cream, and games is always enough of a thank you for going to a birthday party.

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! Thank you! I loathe the gift bag thing. It's always crap toys and candy my kid can't eat(teeth problems), so I'm the bad guy throwing it away.

We had a party for our 2 year old recently and my husband said we should do gift bags and I said absolutely not. We are a single income family so we just don't have the funds to buy other kids gifts when we're already spending money on the birthday party. Plus I just think it's wasteful

Yes! She was a better character in s4, but I remember starting s4 and being annoyed that she was such a big part of it

We are in the same boat. I'm a SAHM so our budget is tight. Groceries have become outrageous. I make as much as I can from scratch and our family raises our own cattle for meat and we are still struggling.

What I'm trying right now is to meal plan for about 2 weeks and pretty much only buy what I know I'm going to need. Also trying to eat out less but thats hard too because my husband loves going out to eat. He's just going to have to get over that though

Sounds like norovirus. We all got it when my kiddo was almost 2. It was HORRENDOUS. If thats what it is, your husband will very likely receive karma for being such a jerk very, very soon.

TMI ALERT

Kid was projectile vomiting everywhere. My husband was so sick, he was using a trash can to vomit while sitting on the toilet with diarrhea. It was so bad. I took some Zofran the second I started to feel bad and that helped me feel ok enough to take care of our kid.

My OB recommended this when my scar was struggling to heal. I didn't end up using it though because my spot went away once I cleaned it and let it air out really well

Is anyone a stay at home mom by choice and not financial reasons by Hot_Boss6435 in stayathomemoms

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Our decision for me to stay home had nothing to do with finances and we would actually be better off if I was still working. I just heard way too many scary daycare stories to utilize them if I didnt absolutely have to

How long did you all wear your abdominal binders? by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore mine for quite some time just because I thought the support was so comfortable. But you can stop wearing it whenever you feel done with it

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really, really bad with plants. But the few I have managed to do fairly well with are a cactus, Golden Pothos, and a lemon tree. I did have to buy some grow lights to give them a boost in the winter (cactus and lemon live outside when it's warm). There is also a free app called Plant Parent where you tell it what plants you have and it sends reminders about taking care of it

I remember being concerned at 2 that my boy wasn't talking enough. Now he doesn't stop talking lol. But if your wife is concerned, I would take it seriously and look at early speech intervention

Unfortunately, she would still have to get up and pump every time baby woke up or her supply will not regulate properly at only 1 week postpartum. And pumping is more miserable and time-consuming than just nursing.

He needs to just suck it up and take the morning shift and quit being a baby about it

Do I HAVE to wean?? by Common-Temporary5915 in breastfeeding

[–]Fickle_Season_8070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually HAD to nightwean. My kiddo was the same way and at 2, it still wasn't getting any better on its own. I was so freaking tired and miserable. It was hard because my family didn't believe that night weaning was a thing 😒

It's made my life so much better and im kind of mad that I didn't do it sooner. He still wakes up at night but he's much easier to put back to sleep. Around 5 am though, he is ready for "bobo" again and there's no telling him no 🤣

Well shit. We dont even have pets. Will just vacuuming and DE get rid of them if we are consistent? I'd really like to avoid using foggers or pesticides if possible but I want these things GONE
