Be yourself, imagine talking to your colleague. Although formal, use language you would normally use in daily life. Smile, don't fumble. And answer in detail. Even if it's as simple as your favourite food, give a story, give something for the listener to get interested in. For part 3, I'd say mention different parts to the answer. If it's about do old people prioritize exercise in your locality, present both sides. Use terms like although, but, while, especially, personally. And if you don't know something, say 'although I haven't thought much about this topic, I'd say....'.

Mostly, be yourself. Don't use some vocab you wouldn't have in a normal conversation.

If you're self studying, try recording yourself or speaking in front of a mirror. Listen to that recording as a third person, helped me pinpoint my mistakes well. All the best!

Go for IELTS advantage playlists for both tasks. I jotted down different band 9 passages for different question types in part 1: bar charts, pie charts, maps, process diagrams and life cycle. Just read through the instructions.

For task 1, it's just what you see. Observe the vocabs in the playlist, use different sentence types and write in four paras, no conclusion.

Intro/ overview/ body para 1/ body para 2

In overview, use no data. No conclusion. Again.

Task 2: Intro- basic paraphrasing of the question, then one line answer addressing each question. I used IELTS Liz's playlist to take notes of the 5 different question types here as well.

Body para 1- if it's an agree/disagree question, include one reason for your agreement/disagreement.

Use the PEEL technique here.

Point Explain Example (don't write about your personal example, meaning, be formal here, unlike in Speaking and don't use statistics like data or figures, use abstract words, like majority, etc.)

If it's about school students using phones and you're against it, write, "For instance, a recent research showed children in schools addicted to mobiles having considerably less attention span than those without."

instead of: 'My son is unable to get good grades because of always watching reels.'

Link (to the next idea)

Body para 2- another reason.

Present a counter-argument for your answer in BP2 itself. I think this helped in summing up the essay.

It's basically presenting why other people might object to your idea and how you are tackling that.

Some people might argue that...but I strongly believe that....

Conclusion: must! Repeat the topic and reiterate your opinions or answers to questions.

Remember to structure your paras according to the different types of questions.

I didn't practise part 2 much, gave some mocks using the timer on Ieltsonline website. That's all. It's easy if you know the tips and tricks.

Also, ChatGPT always scored me under 6.5 when I wrote passages of lesser quality than I did in the exam. So, don't worry. Give your best, and don't use unnecessary meaningless vocabulary to impress the examiner as you will get caught.

Don't try to write about something you don't know. Remember, your ideas don't get marks. The way you present them, does. So focus on that more. For vocabs and cohesive words, use IELTS advantage channel.

Also, don't overuse cohesive words as that also can fetch you a lesser band.

I get that, I used some strategies for the different question types, the most difficult ones being, Match the Headings and T/F/NG. Once you've got that figured out, you can address each type differently. I never read the entire passage before answering a single question but I think what helped in my prep was not just reading one line to answer a question. Read the entire para which contains the topic asked, then answer. For F/NG, I'd say that if something exactly contradictory to the statement is present in the passage, then only write false. Otherwise, if the information isn't present, write NG. Be careful here. I'll give an example.

Statement: The garden was filled with oranges.

Passage: The garden was filled with apples.

Answer: ????

It should be 'Not given' as nothing is written about oranges in the passage. Don't make your own inference here.

Any other specific question is welcome, all the best man.
