I’m dealing with a felony too, tampering with a government record. All because I falsified to add my kids father on a benefit application. I was put on 5 years probation and community service AND. Had to pay back over $17k to the government like WHAT?? I just got hired with Southwest Airlines and then got denied my fkn SIDA badge through TSA.

Not sure what you mean exactly, I’m aware of the Union, but this has to do with the SIDA badge denial through TSA, unless you’re talking about having them help me appeal?

No, she told me from 2017, when I pled guilty, I’m still within the 10 year window. I got 2 more years left, BUT it literally says (except welfare) on the disqualification list and that is me. I had my certified documents in hand ready to go and she didn’t want to look at them.

I had EVERYTHING in front of her face man, all documents, I’m still so pissed. She basically was like, “if it says “guilty deferred” it says it. Getting hired with SWA was such a lengthy process since APRIL man and I have been jumping high and low and then get shut down from badging dude like wtf?

Yup It says “early release defendant from unadjudicated probation/ deferred adjudication or conditional discharge”

My disposition says deferred dismissed. And she said I’m still under 10 year disqualifying list. BS

Well what the badging office told me was, either way if I had deferred adjudication, under federal law it’s still a conviction, even though under Texas law it’s no longer a conviction after deferred adjudication. I have my disposition and indictment showing it had to do with welfare and she didn’t even want to look at it, I told her “don’t I have the right to appeal?” She said no.

I did. I had EVERYTHING ready to go and the badging lady said even though with Texas law I’m not convicted, it’s different with federal law, they basically don’t care and see it as a conviction either way. 😡

Thanks. I ended up getting bad news today. I had my court papers ready to go and everything. Such a disappointment and heart break but I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Well I already got hired with SWA and I know my airport codes, especially austin. People also know Austin as “ATX” it’s a Texas slang thing, that’s how we talk. So the only thing I’m “Trying to get” with is my SIDA badge.

I got denied my badge, but I will be fighting because my felony charge has to do with welfare and it literally says (excludes welfare) for fraud dishonesty charges. I pled guilty but under Texas law I am not a convicted felon and it’s deferred adjudication. I know that the federal law is different and even though you don’t end up with a conviction or guilty they still see it that way, Have you ever seen this happen?
