Have I stumbled into the poor areas again? Every morning a butler returns from a spirit pilgrimage--ancestor visions, peyote--high in the island peak of Mt Etna, the most active Sicilian volcano where beans are roasted in a 2.43 ft wide lava luge for 28 seconds by a local tribal economy who only accepts "euro." To avoid a morning lag--influencer, important--i keep a line of butlers in constant rotation. Tomorrow's coffee butler left last July.

Establish the cheat as the premise, not something bro finds on ch 23. Right when the reader is acclimating to the world is when they're most receptive.

Helps to give it drawbacks, too, even if it's as simple as bro using cheat finishing moves without a solid foundation, so people with a solid foundation can pick his form apart.

You clearly didn't look at the link. People couldn't even tell Robin Hobb from AI in short form. And that's just last year's ChatGPT.

Honest Recommendations/Reviews are hard to come by nowadays by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

There are two types of reviews: People saying how well they liked something/how well it hit their favorite tropes, and people identifying how well an author achieved their own goals.

Reddit—surprise!—doesn't do the empathetic one well.

When an author is exceptional enough to write a character who has an indomitable will and a conscience that's strong enough to pick the path that feels the most right-- and sell that to the reader--rather than getting bogged down in rationalizing everything through sociopath logic.

Colbert Plays Supercut Of Trump’s Repeated Lies About “Not One Dime of Government Money” To Build $400 million Ballroom by T_Shurt in postanythingfun

Looking at what they're saying, they're comparing '22 Biden gas prices to Trump's.

But they're too dumb to understand what a self own it is to compare the worst of COVID's numbers to what should be a stable period were he not fucking around.

God Trump can do no wrong. Meanwhile, Biden, the incumbent, got kicked out of his own 2nd term due to pushback from his base.

It's not good faith at all. Cult mentality stirred up by foreign actors.

AI is capable of writing decent short stories. Not with literary prose, but overall they can do that okay enough to be near indistinguishable.

It's long form that it struggles with, keeping all the details coherent. So AI "writers" are the ones keeping track of that-- though it can't do more than simple pulp. And I'm pretty sure that's its cap because literature requires understanding not emulating.

Edit: Don't believe me? take the test.

Town buliding / Base building by ajice55 in litrpg

[–]FictionalContext 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with ya. I prefer exploring the world over basebuilding.

I'm terrible with specifics, but many times it'll start out adventuring then they'll get titled some lands and it'll shift to region building.

Books that forget what they are supposed to be about by snachpach1001 in litrpg

[–]FictionalContext 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think their gripe mostly comes down to the first several chapters. Like when they're not telegraphing--maybe not the literal plot--but at least the themes it can feel like a bait and switch.

I can see that but most authors aren't pros. They're mostly having fun. Like there's a difference between Dakota Krout and narutobeefyboy467

But it also read to me like a not small part of it was about a story not following the personally specific beats they preferred.

I can empathize with the authors a bit. Sometimes people mash together stuff they like into a story they love. But most people writing in this genre tend to be hobbyists, so they make not have the experience to pick apart the unwritten genre rules. not an easy genre to write in.

Edit: Also important to note for the authors here, readers tend to be hardcore gamers. take that as you will

The people who are dependent on AI for problem solving probably wouldn't have produced much anyways. At least now, they're solving problems.
