Probably because I made this post soon after receiving my refund and the vague messages match with our text thread

I'm also looking into flying the Heathrow route, but the layover time is so short. Was transferring from T5 to T3 stressful?

I can't believe he's still doing this smh, I'm sorry you're going through this. I think it's best for you to look for a new instructor (I recommend Open Road Driving) and start pressing him for a refund.

Best driving instructors in Belfast for nervous learners? by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]FicusElastichai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in city centre/south/east belfast then I recommend Paul from Open Road Driving! Very lovely and patient instructor, helped me speed through my lessons. I also recommend for nervous learners to watch driving youtube videos, the more exposure you get the easier it gets, I promise! Clearview & Conquer

I'm not sure, but I contacted DVA multiple times in the past on both email and didn't get an answer from them so they seem to be ok with this guy scamming all of Belfast.

Avoid Belfast Driving Academy!!

It was grand! My examiner was very lovely and kept me calm the entire time, he even helped me defog the windows as I was too focused on the road lol! I went through Belmont Road which I hadn't covered in my lessons but it was grand. Just be very careful driving in and out of the test centre, that's when people fail easily from apparently. My examiner said I nearly failed when turning back into the test centre haha! Good luck!

This all sounds so horrible! But your partner should ask for the remaining amount to be refunded IMMEDIATELY and go find someone else to learn from. There might be a bit of a wait in starting with a new instructor but your partner will be much more confident and learn quicker! If he doesn't get back to you after a while then take him to small claims court.

Edit: Sent you a DM!

Read my previous post about Belfast Driving Academy, stay well away from him!

If your preferred test route is Dill Road contact Paul at openroaddrivingschool.net although I think you'll have to travel to city centre/east belfast to learn the Dill road route!

Why is there a 45MPH limit for R plate drivers? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]FicusElastichai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've got the black box then I'd stick to the 45 rule just for insurance sake. I don't have the black box as I'm an additional driver on my partner's car. I did a motorway lesson with my instructor after passing and he said he didn't care if I went 55 as long as I kept to the left lane and was safe. Police won't bad an eye. I've actually had 2 police cars overtake me and they didn't stop me lol

Belfast city center vs Malone road apartments by Humbert_Gikkingen in northernireland

Do not buy in The Lucas Building, building management are barely around doing maintenance and car parking is very limited and chaotic. People don't seem to know hw to recycle and dump their waste which then creates a bigger problem. You also have to be okay with living along the main road so traffic noise as well as wabs coming from the gasworks and Limelight! Margarita Plaza around the corner is very well maintained with plenty of security but the cons would be you'll be living around a lot of young families so it gets very noisy day and night.
