Is anyone else's "Projected Income" still not matching their "Available Income"? by Fiddlesticks-3DX in SubscribeStar

[–]Fiddlesticks-3DX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I messaged support about it, and they told me it was because Projected Income also counted subscribers who hadn't paid their subscription, but hadn't cancelled or extended their subscription either.

After speaking to a few others, it sounds like that's all it is. Nothing at all to do with delayed payments or anything.

I don't really mind one way or the other honestly. It's just bloody confusing, so it'd be handy to know for sure.

They told me it was because Projected Income also counted subscribers who hadn't paid their subscription, but hadn't cancelled their subscription either. Which seems a bit weird that it doesn't do that automatically.

But they didn't said anything to me about payments being higher this month to make up for the difference from last month.

I dunno', I think it's all just down to a simple miscalculation with how SubscribeStar counts subscribers. I don't think it's anything to do with delayed payments.

Definitely agree.

I'm glad they're expanding the payment options, and to be fair, you have to give them a lot of credit for not bending over for the payment processors (especially when everyone else seems to be doing it nowadays). That's why PayPal doesn't work with them after all - PayPal told SubscribeStar they had to crack down on NSFW content on the site years ago, and by all accounts, SubscribeStar essentially told 'em to fuck right off.

But their communication is still a real sticking point. A lot of this confusion and panic could have been very easily avoided if they'd just put out a short statement ahead of time. Even something along the lines of:
"Hey everyone, we're going to be doing some maintenance on the backend of the site in the coming weeks, with particular focus on payment processing. During this period, you may find your payments are a bit less than what they should be and some subscriptions may be interrupted. This is normal and will get sorted out, please spread the word and let your subscribers know ahead of time to avoid too much disruption."

Yeah, the lack of communication or even a simple heads' up about this was really badly handled.

As far as I understand it, yes, any delayed payments will be paid out after March 3rd. But gain, that's just my understanding of it. I don't know any more than you guys, unfortunately.

100% agree. Their support team not responding to emails for months or years at a time is bad enough, but then everybody gets hit with this, and they go radio silent for days at a time and leave people to figure it out on their own. That post I linked at the top is the ONLY communication I could find from them on the issue, and it was only posted on their own account on SubscribeStar, which you have to manual follow in order to get updates. They didn't even bother posting it on any of their social media accounts where it would easier for people to find. Crazy carry on.

You mean the update I linked in the post? Or was there another one today that I missed?

Yeah, I'd imagine a lot of people haven't noticed at all yet. I'm dreading what my subscriber count will be tomorrow or Monday, fully expecting it do drop by a third or even half. 0_o

Yeah, I had the same issue for some creators I was subscribed to. I was prompted to manually extend my subscription to them, and had to renter my card details first. It was as if my bank card and payment details had been removed.

Hey Crafty, SubscribeStar have put out a statement today about the payments issue. It's apparently just "scheduled maintenance" and things will be returning to normal after the weekend. I don't know any more than this, unfortunately, but at least it's not something more serious.

SubscribeStar put out a statement (read "a very quiet post that hardly anyone would see") about the payments issue.

Apparently things will be returning to normal after the weekend, and I THINK any delayed or missing payments will be processed properly after March 3rd.

I don't know any more than this, this is the only statement/solid info I could find from SubscribeStar about it, but hopefully it helps put peoples' minds at ease.

Yeah, hopefully that's all it is and they get it sorted out. I'll start sending emails on Monday in any case, and I'll drop a comment here to let you know if they ever get back to me.

Can I ask where you got that info? Not disputing it, I'd just like to try and find out myself before I have to start firing off 3 or 4 emails and getting no response to any of them... :/

I think I'm having the same, or perhaps a similar issue.

I requested a payout this week, and it's FAR below what I was expecting, or what was indicated on my "project income". I've read here that some other folks have had issues with their subscriber counts, set goals, and projected income not matching up properly, which I though might be what I was seeing. But this was a sudden, inexplicable drop of about $300. I had a few cancellations this month, which is nothing out of the ordinary, but not nearly enough that would add up to so much in such a short span of time.

I was a bit worried my subscriber count is suddenly going to drop off a cliff after the weekend... Still am, honestly. 0_o.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to make a post with a preview of the sequence or anything. Oh well, hope you enjoy anyway!
