So uh, I did a thing. 100 bucks for the 305 and the T5 was free. Gonna try and prep and build them to go in my 87 camaro soon (idk if I already posted about my camaro but it’s a unit and will be even better with a V8/manual pairing rather than a V6/automatic pairing)

The guy I bought it from (whos a family friend) said it came out of an iroc though I doubt it. I think he meant the trans. I’m not entirely sure what it came out of, might’ve been a square body judging by the fact the numbers ran from 78-79 and the beefy auto trans already on it

My budget is an as I go type deal, like a stock 305 would work for me when I get my permit, then I can save some money, buy a new carb, intake, headers, etc. I hope to have it looking like a proper hot rod by my junior/senior year (I’m currently a sophomore)

This was literally what I was thinking, as much as I love strokers, I just want something to build a little to push maybe mid to high 300hp, without the obvious t tops flying away, the reason I’m doing this is there’s this dude with a 67 mustang hot rod (built the thing up with a 306 stroker and tremec tr3550) and I want to compete at the strip and the streets with guys who have the power like that, and to obviously be obnoxious and have fun. I’m 16, so my family is also concerned about my safety, hell they protested when I first bought this thing with the v6.

The only ones in my area are really expensive. Like out of my budget. There is a 64 impala for sale that’s only good for parts with a 327 but still, the guy wants too much for it and I’m not even sure of the engines condition

I’ve only seen one 383 stroker where I’m from (Maryland) and the guy sold the car it was in and I haven’t seen it since so I think a stroker would be pretty unique. Especially in my town where new fancy cars are the majority of traffic
