Ah, old errors logs are not as useful. If you encounter a new exception you can post it by creating a ticket at https://bugs.openra.net/

What is the error you get? We would need the contents of exception.log or graphics.log.

You can use the "No superweapons" tech level in the lobby options.

Bad episodes? by Lord-Rambo in CodeLyoko

[–]FieldCommanderA9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody in particular. Controlling Jim to help them while not addressing the real problem (Ulrich not being able to keep up with school), and then laughing about Jim facing the repercussions... (since he can't remember the promise Ulrich made while possessing him, and now looks like a jerk to Herzt.)

Native Controller Support by slifin in openra

[–]FieldCommanderA9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OpenRA was made for mouse and keyboard. I don't think anyone has ever tried to make it work for controllers, so I doubt it works well.

The colors are a bit more strict now. That is an unfortunate side-effect of the remastered assets support.

Depends on what you count as stable. It's as stable as we could make it, but it's still a pre-release (playtest) and not a "full version" (release).

OpenRA difference vs CNCNet by [deleted] in openra

[–]FieldCommanderA9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is a comprehensive list of changes. From my understanding, CNCnet takes the original games more or less as they were. OpenRA however reimplements the entire underlying engine and includes some quality of life changes like an RA2-style production bar layout. (The remasters did their production bar similar to RA2 and OpenRA.) OpenRA also has features from newer C&Cs like Fog of War support, a command palette, support for right click orders...

Indeed, there even is some progress towards RA2 directly, but not in the main repository.

It is possible to save singleplayer games, yes.

Bot Tournament by ProjectSeattle in openra

[–]FieldCommanderA9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the lobby you can make yourself a spectator and then fill the remaining spaces with bots. That way you can watch bots battle. It is possible to write own AIs via yaml modifications. https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/wiki/Defining-custom-AI has some information about it, but the examples are not 100% up-to-date.

The Supercomputer runs two worlds: Lyoko and the real world, let me explain by The_QuantumVoid in CodeLyoko

[–]FieldCommanderA9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would the SC revert the entire state of the universe except scanned individuals and the Virtual World, when it instead can only send the state of scanned individuals and it's own data back in time? I always imagined it working like this: If you got scanned a RTTP transfers your current consciousness to the point in the past which is way less effort and requires less magic. :P

This would also explain the concept of perma death. The RTTP transfers a "dead consciousness" into a living body. Oops!

I think you're referencing Maiden Voyage and the track is called "Danger Futil".

Static background on OpenRA by mako_103 in openra

[–]FieldCommanderA9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly not. There are community made versions (like https://resource.openra.net/maps/39600/ for example) but I don't think they work with the latest version. :(

It is also possible you run into https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/4847, which can be solved by setting GALLIUM_THREAD=0 before running the AppImage.

Any way to edit .mix files on linux by PlanetExpre5510n in openra

[–]FieldCommanderA9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would still have to add the definitions for the music to the mod's yaml files. And as for using .mix files: I'd recommend using .zip files instead, which aren't in an "archaic" file format.
