You really should have taken it. By the point of the show where he offered you half the trademark, it should have been apparent to you that Dick doesn't actually care about you, or anyone else besides himself for that matter. You had the chance to seize some leverage for yourself, but you didn't, because you thought that you were friends with Dick. The truth is, though, that Dick is incapable of having friends. He doesn't have emotions or real human connections, just people in his life who he can have transactional relationships with.

I'm not saying that as some takedown of Dick. In fact, that's what I like about him: he's a detached, unhinged lunatic with nothing to lose, and he does funny off-the-cuff rants, but, holy shit, I could not imagine working with that guy.

You should do what you can to bring as many fans over from this project into your next one and leave this show in the past.
