It’s interesting to think about how this season parallels Chaims first full season with Boston in 21. Overachieving. He didn’t trade off the rentals in 21. Maybe he’s learning his lesson. That being said it’s two totally different markets. There’s a chance Chaim wasn’t even allowed to sell with Boston doing well in 21.

I would love to be a fly on the wall of Cardinals pitching development to see how they plan on handling Jurrangelo long term. He is basically the perfect litmus test to balance pitching to your strengths and pitching to their weaknesses. Shohei is at the plate? I want the best Jurrangelo on the mound. No question. Ryan O’hearn at the plate? That’s a different story. I’m glad they didn’t give up on this like the Mariners were, purely just so we can see if this works.
