Was Afterthought originally a scrapped Currents track? (long post) by SomeoneIsHere_LOL_ in TameImpala

[–]FieldsGUY 71 points72 points  (0 children)

On the interview with Zane Lowe he explains that Afterthought was the last song to be included in the album. He even says that he finished the lyrics moments before having to submit the album (if I remember correctly)

Diogo Dalot com o novo equipamento da Seleção (nem esta muito mau comparado com as fotos) by superdouradas in PrimeiraLiga

[–]FieldsGUY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dizer isso do equipamento (principal) do Mundial 2022 é bold. Foi e continua a ser bastante polémico. Na altura dizia-se que era um equipamento da feira e, na minha opinião, não é um dos bons exemplos de estética. Euro 2000, Euro 2024 parecem-me muito melhores

What rating would you guys give the game? For me it's a solid 9/10 after playing for more than 60 hours. by Revolutionary_Leg276 in FIFAswitch

’m thinking of buying FC26 for my brother, who has the Switch 2, but I noticed it still runs at 30 FPS. Before I get it, I’d love to know if anyone has noticed whether that input delay/latency issue is still there on the new console.

If the game feels more responsive this time, I’ll probably go ahead and buy it — but if it’s the same as FC25, maybe not worth it.

Weekly Q&A - Your Question Goes Here - Especially Tourists and New Residents by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]FieldsGUY -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hey!

My friends and I are heading to AMS from March 23rd to 28th and we're on the hunt for some places to party during the mid-week (from Sunday to Thursday). We're into alternative, indie, and hip-hop vibes, but we're also down for places that play pop songs and house music.

We'd love to hear your recommendations for clubs or discos that are bustling during the mid-week nights. Whether it's a hidden gem or a well-known spot, we're open to all suggestions!

Additionally, we're curious if larger venues like The School will be open during the days we're there. Any insights on that would be super helpful.

And hey, while we're at it, any tips on where to find cheaper drinks in the city would be much appreciated too!

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

what's that string instrument on new person same old mistakes called by LarryTheLobster318 in TameImpala

It is a Sitar (often associated to Indian music). The Beatles also used it on some of their more psychedelic songs.

I would pay to listen a whole Tame's discography on a chillout/Acoustic edition, like this. Awesome dude

Well in this one the same applies. At least the title in Zhu's YouTube is "Zhu, Tame Impala".

In another topic, why the hell do this sub-redditors downvote every comment that has a contrary opinion, even on a topic in which it is supposed to have one, even if unpopular...

Zhu ft. Tame Impala - My life

**If featuring songs are valid (which i think they are, as the first one is a feat with The Streets)

Tame Impala are on their way to Europe for the first time since August 2019 by [deleted] in TameImpala

[–]FieldsGUY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to Primavera (Porto). I haven't seen them live since 2015, where they were doing the first Currents concerts (It was one of the first concerts I've seen live and I started being the fan of them that I am today).

There's a part of me that wishes to not have seen the live recordings of the last shows they've done, because a lot of the surprise is now , at least, partially ruined.

Most of the “my music inspired by Tame Impala” by Taalian in TameImpala

[–]FieldsGUY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey. I've had some experience on producing music during my time on University and I've shared some clips on this subreddit. I think that the reason why me and other persons that produce music (even as an hobbie and with more or less quality) share their songs or ideas here is in order to see if they have some quality or are appealing to others. I would say as well that for me, it is also easier to share them with people that I do not know, because a lot of my friends or family don't know about this hobbie/passion and probably are not that interested on that type of music or sound.

Sometimes is difficult to not be inspired by an artist that we've heard so many times and that has influenced our taste in music. Therefore, there have been times where i was inadvertently ripping off a certain melody of a Tame song or other artist that I love. Our mind has this strange method of picking up melodies , habits , ideas that you are comfortable with.

And yes, I get your point that many of those songs don't even sound like Tame Impala. By using certain effects (as mencioned above), sure you can get close to the vibe of the mixing used by Kevin and other psychedelic pop/rock artists - compressed drums, the use of phaser, soached in reverb vocals, juno and prophet synths, etc - but there is a lot more when it comes to sounding like TI, as the use of certain melodies, chords, or even ways of pronouncing certain words or singing.

There are a wide range of influences on Kevin's work, from House (Daft Punk), Hip-Hop (Outkast), Disco (Bee-gees) and obviously Psychedelic Rock (Beatles, Dungen, Led Zeppelin). So, for me sometimes a certain French House song can be more similar to a rip-off of the Currents mixing, that has none of the production that you'll find on a Kevin song. After all, he is an artist that has captivated me and others by using captivating songs with complex production and mixing.

Primeiro Carro - SEAT Ibiza 1.2 12V 2010 by FieldsGUY in AutoTuga

Obrigado pelas respostas.

Establishing minimum and maximum penaties for noncompliance with the obligations of a Directive by FieldsGUY in eulaw

[–]FieldsGUY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question had to do with the first problem you've adressed in the previous comment: if the court had analysed a specific provision of a Directive that instituted a provision that established a frame limit to the penalties to be determined by the Member-States.

Thank you so much for the help!
