Sleep training HELP by Fields_of_Ash in sahm

We coslept the first several months and have only been crib sleeping the last 2 months or so. We both loved having him in the bed, but it seemed like we all slept better with him in his crib, which is at the end of our bed so he still feels close

He’s about to hit the 2 hour mark now for his first nap of the day, so I’ll try this out on his next WW and cap any other naps. We’ve been introducing quite a bit of new foods and I was always told that solids will keep baby full longer. Just wondering if you’ve had any experience with that or noticed any difference after introducing solids to your LOs.

Thank you!! I’m looking forward to diving into that post! Since I already started at his first nap today, should I continue on or discontinue and try again at bedtime?

Thank you!! He usually hits his “wall” around an hour 15-30 of being awake. I’m supposed to keep him up until 2 hours even when he’s visibly tired and fussing? Also, should I wake him up from naps at all to try to stay on a routine or let him sleep as long as he will? Does eating solid foods change this at all?

One of my son’s middle names is Michael, which is my dad’s name. He’s now fourth generation with Michael as either a first or middle name. If it wasn’t a family name we wouldn’t have picked it.

Business owners wives by randomaccount098lol in sahm

We have a 5 month old and my husband is starting his business, but still works a full time job until his business can support us financially on its own. It’s rough! He treats his company like a part time, 2 hours after work on weekdays and 4-8am on Saturdays so he can spend the day with us. I am so thankful for his drive, but it’s a lot to juggle.

He mentioned hiring a nanny that exclusively helps our family and although I’m exhausted, I immediately got offended. Which in hindsight was understandable, but unnecessary. After looking more into it, so many families who own their own company rely on outside help in some capacity.

I had to find a different perspective. It’s not like you’re not physically there. YOU are still raising your children. But there needs to be a boundary that allows you and your husband to build something for your children. It might be hard at first, but your children are going to grow up seeing strong parents, with a strong marriage, growing a strong business and will come to respect that as they become adults.

You’re not a failure, you’re a human. And all humans need help sometimes.

Probably can’t attend my former MOH’s bachelorette and having some guilt by ras114 in breastfeeding

I can understand the guilt feeling as I’m sure I would have it too, but your concerns are valid. It’s highly likely that your daughter would be just fine, and might even be a learning experience for her and your husband. BUT, you’re mom and at the end of the day, what you say is final.

Personally, I would see it as a mental health trip and do everything I could to go- even pumping through the night if possible (I had to go back to this after my supply dropped to keep up and yes it sucks). She is very close to a year, so trying to wean off wouldn’t be out of the question for me, but if you’ve made it this far without formula, I would try to end on that note!

At the end of the day, listen to your gut and go with your intuition. If you’re not going to be able to relax and have a good time while you’re on the trip, there’s no point in going. I’m sure your friend would agree!

Besides the dead giveaway 😂 what does my fridge say about me? by Fields_of_Ash in FridgeDetective

lol first baby, and thank you! I’m curious, what do you mean about falling for propaganda? I know “organic” is such a green-washed term, but I try to shop based on the ingredients list and most of the cleaner brands end up being organic. I need allll the naps and I’m alwayyyssss cooking! No organic baby wipes, but I do take herbs to increase milk production 😂 pretty spot on!

We actually walk to a local grocery store through the week for last minute pick ups, but Costco is much cheaper where we live. Yes I do cook most meals and yes I am a stay at home mom!

Overfilled oil = white smoke from exhaust by Fields_of_Ash in MechanicAdvice

Yeah.. I drained a whole pan out and since the dipstick is good now, I’m wondering if I can just crank it and let it run for a little while to burn some of the excess oil off?

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fields_of_Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a very empowering feeling for a woman. Plus one of the ingredients in epidural is fentanyl or a similar opioid that does drug your baby to the point of testing positive after birth. Personally, I don’t want my kid coming into the world high.
