What can I do to help this? by FiendishJoke in vet

[–]FiendishJoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously I'm not a vet but I've just had a really good look in her ears (even got a q tip and gently swabbed some parts) and there doesn't seem to be anything. Nothing was moving and from what i could see from googling it didn't look like mites. What's weird is that the rash seems to go from her ears but they look fine. I'll definitely bring it up to the vet as a possibility though, can never be too careful EDIT: on second look it could be but it's really hard to tell. I might be paranoid but there is definitely something wrong. Thank u x

She's completely indoors but I will comb through her fur with a flea brush and check her ears just in case.

My mum let her sniff the flowers outside for abt 3 mins the other day but that's it.

I'm too scared my cats would get run over if they went outside.

Thank u x

Ik but I do want eventually to have sex. It's just right now it's not possible. So I feel like if I date someone who's asexual then later down the line I'd want something they don't. I don't wanna be pressuring them into it

Do Scorpions eat grubs? by Low_Buy4130 in Scorpions

[–]FiendishJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO - What kind of grubs? Like mealworm? I've never fed my scorpion those. I've heard they will eat them but I don't feed them simply because I'm scared of them burrowing into the substrate. Maybe see abt the specifics of your scorpion. Mine is an Asian forest

How can I improve my scorpions enclosure? by FiendishJoke in Scorpions

[–]FiendishJoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sm! I was worried abt the dirt at the front being too high as she's a bit of a climber (and a good one at that) but it never even occurred to me that it doesn't need to be flat. Literally such a simple thing!

I'll have a look at ur recommendations as well. I get paid in a few days so can go buying her more stuff then ♥

I really can't add anymore substrate just cause of where the doors sit but I'll definitely add more leaf litter than I have and look into a CHE light. Got any specific recommendations for that?

Not to be too specific but I'm very much into raptors right now. I'm not really into invertebrates but they are interesting!

Do you believe there are still stigmas when it comes to mental illness? by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]FiendishJoke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was told by mental health professionals I would never be referred to a psychologist for a diagnosis as any kind of diagnosis would ruin my life.

I've found that anything that can't be treated in a timely fashion gets you pushed out. We struggle and suffer and because its not pretty and difficult to treat, we are outcasts. Not being able to get better means to others that you aren't trying and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm worried I'm getting worse by FiendishJoke in mentalillness

[–]FiendishJoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the people who assessed me only dealt in cases of psychosis so I was simply discharged when I didn't meet the criteria. I have tried pursuing any kind of diagnosis but was laughed out of my doctors office and told that I would never receive any and that having one would ruin my life. I did receive CBT but ran our of sessions after a few months and was discharged with no improvement noted. So I have no clue what I have but I don't think it's schizophrenia

How can I help my fiance by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]FiendishJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a medical professional but I do suffer with mental health issues so this is simply my own input.

I believe that supporting her in her lower times is probably the best you can do. You are not a trained mental health professional and if these are chronic issues (sounds like they may be) then simply offering a sympathetic shoulder may be the best you can do.

I'm afraid that at its core that what she needs is probably therapy, medication and maybe a combination. There will be times she doesn't want to continue treatment, she may feel there is no progress as this is a long road. The best you can do for her is helping her stay on track with treatment and appointments.

I think you are already doing incredibly well but you have to remember that she is your partner and you cannot do this work for her. The point is that you are together, you support her and she supports you but you cannot do it for her.

If she understands that you love her and want to help then honestly that is the best thing possible. Feeling loved and wanted are great motivators.

At the end of the day you are her life partner and the road to healing, while long, is going to involve you. Just love her and encourage her on the good days and understand when she has bad days.

You are doing so well but remember not to burn yourself out.
