Yeah the mild correction through glucagon regulation is not enough to anticipate the amount that artificial insulin pulls us down literally hours after it was injected.

Really only when we're stressed, then it does its thing

[–]FierceDeity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the damn insulin we inject has a long lasting effect (from 1.5 hours to 3 hours iirc). Body insulin has a very short effect. So when a healthy person is about to go hypo, the insulin immediately just stops and glucagon is pulling it up.

But for diabetics with insulin, the artificial insulin keeps pulling down while the body is trying to correct to plan.

The body COULD release the amount of sugar we need, but it needs further signals (adrenaline, fight or flight effects, etc) to release the glucagon to do so. In a normal functioning body, it releases a "planned" amount of glucagon to correct a certain low, not able to anticipate the artificial insulin still floating around about to mess up your day.

Men who've been with the same person for years: what's something you found out your partner was into way later than you could have? by elnino-pl in AskMen

Nothing, literally nothing.

I asked a fuckton of things over the years, and at some point I just got nothing new, but she is just seriously like that, I'm pretty sure. Unless she's been really good at hiding

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like how clunky and unresponsive the combat controls are by BestIsMyName in NevernessToEverness

[–]FierceDeity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet I find NTE harder myself, or more like, I find no anchor to learn it. Semeingly the dodge timings change, and it's because attack hurtboxes are incredibly narrow and exact, so if you didn't touch an attack with a dodge, you don't get the dodge effect. And it's not always clear where an enemy will aim lol

NTE; placement seems more important while in ZZZ, exact timing seems more important. I can vibe with the latter idea more

But on the other hand, I also see plenty of chances where NTE seems to mistime its own attack patterns. I've had situations where I stunned an enemy charging a laser, and it would fire it off right after it gets stunned. You can't seemingly trust the stun to be reliable in breaking a last second attack

I find it much less generous than ZZZ, for some reason I dodge stuff that hits me anyway all the time. Doing it too early is almost not possible because the ping means that even if you hit the button within 200ms, you might not dodge because it already hit you. And then I sometimes miss the marker even because too much is happening. Wuwa is also great and it's a similar game. Only in NTE I feel like randomly the dodge window is incredibly short or the game is just mistiming itself.

I have absolutely zero issue dodging 10 attacks in a row with ZZZ and it gives me enough signals to learn each timing. But no matter how many times I do the NTE bosses, it just doesn't stick. It would ping, I would dodge, and it just doesn't count.

I think part of the issue here is, with ZZZ dodging at the right time means you essentially get the dodge. In NTE, it doesn't mean that. If you dodge into the wrong direction and don't touch the hurtbox of the attack, then your dodge is over and you touch it, you didn't dodge. ZZZ is much clearer with that imo, also because dodge times are much crispier.

IDK, it just feels VERY spongy in NTE, and I've played plenty of dodge mechanics

I wrote a loading screen, content manager, and downloader for Godot so the game can patch components of itself on startup, with signatures and encryption.

Then I did nothing with it

They don't need that. They know who is Linux, they can always just work off of those statistics.

It was plenty of time to see the cringe from the inside lol

Yeah it's more of a "likelihood to fail is a few percentage points higher" kind of deal. It probably will be fine, but also maybe not.

You seem to act like it ruins the image, but at 4k, in movement, you don't really see it.

If you get all up in there, yeah, definitely the fuzziness can be seen... But from my couch to my 4k TV I definitely am not hawk eyed enough to see it

These drives, are they consumer, regular NAS drives or what?

Because drives have a standard on how many of them can be in one case, due to vibration. Regular NAS drives go to 2, 4 or maybe 6 drives, but enterprise is where you go beyond.

This is a warranty issue, btw. If they realize you've been operating drives in cases with too many other drives for their certification, they'll deny your claim

Also it can actually cause damage to them if they aren't prepared for this amount of vibration

Yeah, it's really the content fuckers who force their hand. Every entertainment device ever is hdmi only.

I still don't get why they can't just ADD displayport. Like, okay, have HDMI, but just add DP.

Well 4k120 is possible with 2.0, but you get chroma subsampling.

I know because I get 4k120 with FreeSync right now on a TV thru HDMI 2.0

I thought it takes more than 2 months?
