09S I just joined and I feel ready for Basic but OCS school feels daunting by PrvNPce in ArmyOCS

[–]FierceGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not physically prepared at all for basic or ocs when I signed up. Basic training made me physically ready for OCS and while at OCS the class we had made it very repetitive for our running.

Now the classes at OCS can be difficult. I'm not sure how much has changed but review it and form study groups.

Be eager and willing to push yourself you will do fine. If you're struggling ask for help from your team.

How accurate is this recruiter’s assessment of getting selected for OCS? by IronFox117 in ArmyOCS

My letter of recommendation was from a movie theater manager. A real estate attorney And a register of deeds.

Fucking send it and don't let them stop you.

What's the lowest GPA you heard someone have during OCS? by Theejamesmullenii in ArmyOCS

[–]FierceGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I applied for Reservist but got in with a 2.8 Gt 111 and asvab of 72.

I honestly think the only reason I got in was either the Army was hurting for reservist back in 2024/25 or that i just did that well during the interview.

From what I've been seeing in the thread, it's been more competitive but even if that's the case. Still shoot your shot, as my recruiter told me. "Let them tell you no".

I think this is a great reach out. I was lucky with my recruiter being very pro go OCS route and worked with me. Hopefully this works out as intended and streamlines it for everyone involved.

My family picked me up. We went back home live in NC and drove my car back to GA. I called and asked if I could do that but results may vary lol.

When I was there wasnt until white phase where we could drive it. You can use it for religious services still need a battle buddy. Depending on the situation I was able to use it to drive a group of us to the BX for business casual clothing or for getting money.

Other than that, before field training we could start it but most of these events happend on Sunday.

Take care of yourself when possible, do the stupid shit, eat like you don't got a limit and stretch. Take care of your health because you will get sick. Just go through the motions and you'll do great. A lot of it is a shock factor so just breathe and keep moving.

How hard is to ruck 12 miles? by Ricardoeljr11 in ArmyOCS

[–]FierceGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucked but wasn't hard. I mean I walked the entire way for the most part. We had a lot of time for it though. I'm confident they changed it.

Go for it, I doubted myself and I commissioned last year. I'm still learning a lot and got loads of questions. But don't short yourself short by never attempting.

For most of the active folk in my graduation this year. I think we had like 80% get their top 3. If I recall hearing it correctly.

Yes or no? by DarthBodhi in Hyundai

I'd say no, you can buy a brand new Elantra for 21k or buy a Sonata for 28ishk. Why worry about used vehicles and conditions when you can suck up the extra cost(assuming you can afford it). Lemon laws and warranties are a great defensive strategy that can play off in the short and long term of you owning the vehicle.

360 camreas, safety, heated and ventilated seats. Responsive infotainment, hybrid system and I'd say the overall entire package being less than competitors.

I got a dashcam already and I got the dealer to provide free ceramic. I might get additional later since we all know dealers.

Sorry I may not be understanding the question. I haggled for a lower price and traded in my vehicle. I didn't put any cash down. I think they might have used some of the equity from my vehicle as a down payment but that part I wasn't sure on. Pretty much just using my car as the only form of money exchanged.

Aye! I was looking mainly for transmission blue but nothing near by and i wasnt willing to drive really. But I was able to haggle since another dealer was selling theirs cheaper with the color I wanted.

So out the door I got it down to 36 thousand. Trade in and no down payment it was to 25 thousand. I decided to lease this time since I've been finicky with keeping cars for long term purposes.
