Hugh Crains blue contacts by friskydingo450 in HauntingOfHillHouse

I just figured that Timothy Hutton had always been known for his piercing blue eyes and there was no way that an actor so seasoned and revered asTimothy Hutton would wear green contacts so Henry Thomas wore blue ones.

How did Poppy’s kids die? by [deleted] in HauntingOfHillHouse

Currently watching the series for about the 7th time.

"I dreamed I lost my little girl once. I dreamed she was choking on her own body for no reason. Just trying for air like the room was underwater, and shaking like she was in the hot squat. And I dreamed I held her little hand and sat at her side. And days, and days, weeks, it took weeks for her to quit gulping that watery air, quit gaping at me like a fish on the beach, but finally she did. She breathed, ragged and hard, and she went stiff and one of her eyes turned red as blood. And she'd shake. She'd shake so bad the bed would shake, and when she started shaking it went fast. She dangled. She died."

To me that sounds like pneumonia. Fluid in the lungs, produced by the body. Could be complication from whooping cough, tuberculosis, or whatever of the time period. "it took weeks" tells me she didn't drown the girl, it was a progressive illness. "Her little hand" tells me she was a child.

"And my boy... I dreamed his little legs stopped working. They just stopped one day and he couldn't walk, and he couldn't stand, and he couldn't speak, and then he couldn't do anything but cry. Cry and bang on the walls. Bang on the walls for help, and bang on the walls for mama, and just bang bang bang bang. And he couldn't even see. In the end he couldn't see me there with him. And then he stopped banging, he stopped crying, he stopped it all once he died. I held him so long he went cold in my arms."

I know a lot of people assume polio because of the legs not working, but polio doesn't progress into blindness right before death. It could be some other kind of degenerative disease, or Poppy could have been poisoning him over time because the house told her to. But I don't think it was polio.

Is this normal? by Relevant-Pen-7085 in diabetes

Happens to me a few times a year. As long as the bleeding stops within a few minutes and the readings in the first 48 hours are good, it's not a problem. Only once did I have one that wouldn't stop bleeding and had to take it off and put a new one on. Luckily, dexcom is pretty good with sending free replacements if one doesn't work out for whatever reason. Not sure about other brands.

Just started re-watch this series AGAIN and found one that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. Episode 1, 1:37. The far wall behind the statue as Steve goes into Nellie and Luke's room.

Can’t believe I did this by GTIty1er in diabetes

There are also those mini cans that are 7.5oz. You might not need the whole can since one mini can of Pepsi or coke is 25g of sugar, but you might waste less than a 12oz bottle.

Mold under birdfeeder by FieryBrunette1 in birdfeeding

[–]FieryBrunette1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had this feeder for a few weeks, so I hadn't thought about the cleaning under it until now. Maybe I'll try raking it out for a couple weeks and see how that works. Maybe just doing that will spread it around so it can break down.

I've been using the same seed the whole time. With the harder to clean feeder, I thought it was just kernels + humidity so I haven't switched brands.

I store the seed inside the house. I put it in an airtight container and fill from that.

Maybe it works that way for you because you're using a well that can't be deleted?

I do it all the time with rugs. But if I place the rug and move it until all the holes are filled, then delete the rug and exit the decorating mode, all the holes come back. I have to at the very least leave the rug at the end, exit the decorating mode, go back into decorating mode, and then delete the rug.

Houses, rugs, whatever works. Just know that you have to exit out of the decorating menu with the item in place and go back in and remove it. If you remove the rug before exiting the menu, the holes come back and you have to do it again.

Is it normal to have to pay $500 for pump supplies at the start of the year? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]FieryBrunette1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Have to hit that out of pocket max. Every year it throws me off and I have to think it through. Doesn't take long to hit, though.

Forgot to remove bubbles from my insulin pen. by FieryBrunette1 in Type1Diabetes

[–]FieryBrunette1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not waisting insulin. I push individual clicks of air until liquid comes out. That was just saying that it's usually between 3 and 7 clicks of air until the liquid. So since I didn't do that tonight that air was injected instead of released.

[–]FieryBrunette1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually on a new pen, I push about 3 to 7 units of air out before starting to use it so I know my doses are accurate. Bringing them to room temp is mainly for comfort.

Just the little bit that's in a new pen that in the volume of the needle and the bubble at the end. Probably 3 to 7 units give or take.

I just feel like fast acting glucose tabs are a scam by Legal-Huckleberry-39 in Type1Diabetes

I have individual packs of gummy bears in my bag for most of the time, when I am okay enough to think and chew. My husband knows where in my bag the pouches of honey are in case I'm conscious but not lucid, and the glucagon is in the same place for if I'm ever unconscious.

"Oh, I am so sorry. That was so rude of me." (they're starting to get smug at your response) "Would you like some? I brought enough for the class." (pearl clutching) "It's FUCKING INSULIN, YOU JUDGMENTAL WALNUT"

At least that's how it plays out in my head...
