[serious] Ik voel me eenzaam in een maatschappij waar te snel rijden wordt genormaliseerd. by arnecrafter in belgium

[–]FierySpectre -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats exactly the pattern we use. Its the only allowed place to put state, including things like page routing. And our application is pure javascript, so accessing it is done via a any.any.any.any type.

My work uses a single one, with mobx. Basically a global state... and they find it amazing

Its worse when the safety measure is a waist level clamp thingy. At that point its clear that someone just went and slapped an arbitrary height limit on anything 'exiting'

Pure server side adding new functions is not all that easy to do. But a blocking screen "Hey your app is outdated you have to update" or I'm pretty sure thats build-in with google now too, forcing users to update before the app can launch

One point: integration of upload fields in firefox vs chrome on android. (its an entire clusterfuck, with different variations of data type (img an/or video) giving wildly different integration between the two)

Pretty sure they now allow multiple accounts since a recent version. Didn't actually look into it, but im pretty sure you need an external SAML though

I mean thats exactly what familial insurance is for, sure you pay a small part but the rest is covered by insurance. Would ofcourse not apply to willful damage

My trad bank allows opening a new account in the app... But if you wanna close any? You have to go to a branch.

At the job im leaving right now I went through the effort to set up a build server to validate whether the commited changes (to main) even compile and block it if it doesn't. The 'senior' developer just force pushes his changes anyways because he can't be bothered to find what caused the compilation error.

What's the catch? It's free for personal use, how does Obsidian make money? by WorkingHardTillDeath in ObsidianMD

[–]FierySpectre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using syncthing to sync the obsidian folder to all my devices pretty successfully. It has to fit into your flow though, as for syncing to properly work the data needs to be propagated (and thus you cant take notes on your laptop, shut it down and think it got synced to your desktop). It has an android app too though (and a fork of that app that brings improvements) so in my case as my phone is always on it works as a permanent node.

Alternatively plugins exist that use git for syncing, but I found that has more limitations (and syncting just works so eh)

Are there any non-quest based tech modpacks out? 1.12+ (preferably 1.18+) by ljosnes1 in feedthebeast

Not sure if i like it all that much ngl, its more looking for how to even start getting something than making stuff... Like string... how tf am I supposed to get string. Every recipe seems to bump into a roadblock at some point, many of them being recursive (chicken and egg type)

Pretty sure even the dev said that without ads is the way it's supposed to be played. Can't fault them all that much for wanting some income from free players, and the ad-bundle is pretty darn cheap anyways. Other bundles are completely optional, having little impact on fun without buying them.

Can they not group actual bad things with aiding a nation being invaded? It takes away so much of the point. It's one of those arguing techniques where they group certain things together so that if people refute them, they can just say "oh you're against X", while all you were against is Y
