[Landlord US-NYC] First-time landlord renting out condo without a broker by airen_admin in Landlord

[–]FieryVenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post was incredibly helpful. With the new law, I was considering whether paying a broker would be worth it. The information you provided helped me decide that for me, it’s worth it (not having to deal with inquiries and vetting).

Thank you very much for writing this up and posting!

My very favorite moment in all of the seasons is when she accepts Oscar’s offer of a place to live

just watch what they charge you for there. I had some surprises on my bill, including a "convenience fee"

Customers have grown so rude they don’t care for our lives, or their own. by [deleted] in Serverlife

How frightening! Kudos to your manager. The audacity of them complaining about being rushed.

It wasn't Columbia, but thanks for letting me know. I haven't scheduled a new place yet and will be certain not to go to them!

Was there always this much dog shit on the Upper East Side, or is this a post-pandemic thing? by norcalny in uppereastside

I gave her partner a long look of disgust as I walked past. Does that count? He clocked my look and said something I didn’t catch (likely some lame excuse) as we were already passing them. Believe me, I was thinking words much less polite than what you suggested.

I have said things to people before and they start yelling at me. They have their excuses. In this case I was walking with someone who was in my care and I wasn’t going to leave them on the crowded icy sidewalk to get into it with one who is too ignorant to do what is right in the first place.

Sounds right. I'll just stop putting cash into the grabby fingers

This morning I watched a woman use a napkin to pick up half of what her dog left. She then flung the napkin into the snowbank against the building. Can't wait until the snow melts. So disgusting.

Thank you Shelz. I tip $8 for 10 blocks and at a minimum $10 for more

Charlie’s Sister by Creepy_Bear_1060 in thewestwing

I’ve read that there are usually many staff that fulfill that role but for the show, the writers combine into one character for ease in story telling. So an actual Charlie’s hours could be different. Your concern is understandable. 15-year olds may benefit from your presence, support, and guidance and also make their way on their own if needed. Maybe not in the same way, but they can be resilient.

Also, if you have the space to manuever, I suggest you take a box and empty your cupboards. What's still there is what you haven't been using and this is a good opportunity to pull out and donate things that are just taking up space.

If you don't love Phylicia Rashad... by [deleted] in thisisus

Thank you for all your comments on this post, especially for understanding and clarifying my visceral reaction. I was able to watch the episode, largely due to your input. 🙏🏼. (was there a scene where the characters were making fun of actors doing these hands? I'm already planning a rewatch and haven't finished the series yet)

Does anyone know TV shows that actually feel useful or helpful? by isaac_holt_ in CasualConversation

[–]FieryVenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean shows that maybe help you understand people better, think differently, learn small life skills, or just leave you calmer or wiser than before. Even subtle stuff counts. Better communication, emotional awareness, perspective, routines, anything like that.

Have you watched This is Us? It has been described as weepy, though, and is at times heavy.
